@JT - True. But, eh, it's not as if I watch this show for its depth anyway.

@Applelight - Wasn't the cake Celestia's?
This I do so that I will not live in regret.

@Purple: Yeah... two days ago, on the Birthday of John A. Mac Donald(First Prime Minister of Canada), a statue of him was vandalized with the phrase, "This is stolen land".

Personally, I'm getting my fill of European/Native relations politics at the moment...

@ d Roy

Are you sure you watched the episode? tongue

It's the parting gag at the end. Famously, the fourth wall is eaten.

@Syd: I have my own issues with that episode that have nothing to do with RL history. In fact, I think dragging RL stuff into that episode is kind of ridiculous because it's obvious that they just utilized the aesthetics, and the actual behavior of the involved groups isn't at all comparable to how the real life events played out.

Well the D&D thing has already been done, but you could always do it too.

Edit: Take a drink.

Whoever said no continuity has clearly lost hard, we've had so much character development these past seasons.

There's been lots of character development yes, but it also tends to arbitrarily get ignored sometimes for the sake of jokes/convenience.

not really. On the whole it sticks amazingly well, and they go for a more realistic approach, everyone has their odd moments where they act different or regress a bit, so no reason they shouldn't too.

@Blue: I wouldn't say it gets outright ignored that often; just because someone learns a lesson at one point doesn't mean they're going to follow it perfectly for the rest of their life.

Now I'm wondering how MLP would go as a D&D game. I can see the pilot as Twilight being a Munchkin who thinks that Wizards beat everything but gradually learns the power of teamwork letting lower tiers help you out occasionally. And she knows that Nightmare Moon is coming because she read the adventure module but noone will beleive her since they're trying to stick to IC knowledge. Also, at the end, Twilight one shots Nightmare Moon using a scroll of Prismatic Spray, leading the DM to be so frustrated that she removes the combat and switches it to a mostly RP campaign.

Sounds more interesting than how Friendship Is Dragons handled it.

I think Fi D suffers a lot in comparison with Darths & Droids.

Well of course it's not as good as Darths and Droids. Few webcomics are.

Oot S is not same kind of comic as D&D. I agree that Fi D is weaker than D&D but I didnt read much of it. But I also didnt read D*D for ages, probably I'm tired of that idea.

[up]It already had 2 recent updates.

This. Polsky's other issue is too much slapstick. Then, I found the conflict less engaging than other episode, the mane characters felt like guests in another show, the O Cs were less interesting than we're used to, the conflict was completely unbalanced but treated as though it wasn't... The similarities to my own continent's modern issues just made it even more sour. I felt no effect from the American history.

Similarly, Feeling Pinkie Keen was excessively cruel to Twilight.

Too Many Pinkie Pie's may be a result of Unfortunate Implications, but they are too in my face for someone who has studied Genetics and as such had to learn the ethics of genetics. Did you know that we need to go to the ethics board whenever we work with human DNA for any reason? And that we need permits to work with any transgenic DNA from any organism? This was so insanely far out of what I've been trained to consider ethical, I was horrified.

EDIT: Friendship Is Dragons isn't bad, but I agree that it could have been improved and that that suggestion would have helped. OOTS is awesome and yeah, updated twice recntly.

@Sereg TMPP is kinda an odd one out for your normal type of headcanon, because all of your problems with it go away if you look at the exact, literal interpretation of the initial scene where Pinkie climbs through the pool, because it shows that the clones came from somewhere, and so had somewhere to return to.

Sigh, every time I sit down to do something on the computer in the kitchen, someone in my family finds some reason to kick up a fuss, make lots of noise and just bother me in general. But by this time tomorrow, all that will be over for good. I'll have my own desk in my own room again...and I've decided to install a lock on my door too. I'll have my own fortress of solitude to work in, and everyone else can sod off. grin
