Hearth's Warming Eve is still one of my favourite episodes. Chancellor Pinkie Puddinghead is just so great. We need an episode where Pinkie runs for mayor of Ponyville.

If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot right now.

I'll admit that I'm a bit apprehensive about Dave Polsky writing the next episode. I still think of him as the Over A Barrel guy.

Well the botched moral, and the utter OO Cness of both ponies and Ponyville itself.

And how could you hate HEW that is one of my all time favorite eps.

Really she dind't get over her Scrappy status till Wonderbolt Academy. Seems the other writers took her aside and taught her how to write for this show. Since while she's not a bad writer, her style in season 2 was just so at odds with the overall tone of the show.

and again, nothing IN the ep is all that bad, it's the looking at it, with the whole Real Life stuff that gives it it's issues.

Reminds me of the fanfic Bureaucracy Is Magic. The mayor decides she needs a break, and the mane six take turns attempting to fill her horseshoes.

Given that the writing is more of a group effort than anything else, I don't put too much stock in that. I do agree that Polsky's main issue is that he doesn't consider how closely people look at his episodes, but that's not really his fault if the fans overanalyze everything.

MM Mystery is a really good episode, though it doesn't quite have the depth of characterization of some other episodes. But in terms of entertainment value, it's near the top.

The end. Pinkie devours the entire thing in one gulp by jumping up into the air and diving down on it with her mouth open. It's the only time in the series that she actually ends up fat from overeating.

A particularly ugly part of American history was portrayed as a silly pie fight for some cheap laughs. I don't think it's wise to get much deeper into this. I'm sorry I brought it up.

Since I'm not an American, that historical connection didn't come to me.

Also, the pie fight was easily one of the funniest FIM moments of all time in my opinion.

Pinkie inciting the Buffalos to charge, is THE SINGLE FUNNIEST MOMENT from the series, in my opinion. It was just so brilliant!

In my opinion, that is.
