I think what got me into the show was the diverse cast of characters (I was expect cookie cutter type characters), the beautiful animation, and the overall happy appeal this show is known for.
Thanks

Put the text you want italicized in double apostrophes. ''this'' gives this.
I was basically a case of "Man, why is this show popping up everywhere?" So I watched, and it basically grew on me. I think it was Bridle Gossip that really sold me on it; the poison joke stuff was hilariously awesome.
I really like character based humor, and I was surprised by the depth of character this show had.

I'm extra happy that this show has good antagonists (rare though they are) I'm always a fan of a good asshole character, and boy does MLP have some great ones

All right, I am now officially caught up. That last episode made me go d'awwwwww, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

So...has anyone gotten around to making a Pony X Touhou crossover yet? It has to exist at some point. "There's Touhou of it" is the first corollary of rule 34.
Edit: Holy shit◊!

Someone should rewrite Gulliver's Travels so that the horses he finds at the end are My Little Ponies.

Well holy shit; color me impressed. Treehouse not only played "Gryphon the Brush-off" they played it uncensored.

Ok, so if any of you remember when I said that Griffon the Brush-Off would be airing tonight at 9:30, that ended up being true, the episode did indeed air on Treehouse tonight, and I recorded it to DVD for posterity, thus putting an end to the two-month rumor that the episode was banned from Treehouse entirely, it's just that they don't want to play it often I presume. From this, I can imagine they aired it at least once before, during the first run of the show.
However, for an episode that was so reluctant to air, contrary to what people might think, nothing was censored. NOTHING. That's right. Calling the characters lame-os and dweebs is okay, but "loser" is taking it too far. So...if there was nothing to censor, why were they so reluctant to air it? I guess they were saving certain episodes of shows for the Halloween season, which is pretty common (in my country, at least), since I guess Gilda was supposed to frighten the viewers. That's the only reason I can think of. But even then, it still seems pretty weird. This just makes you think.

Well, I gave them a good shitting on via e-mail about who they thought they were, censoring their episodes. I decide what my kid (I haven't got one, but they don't need to know that) sees and hears, not someone on the opposite side of the country from me.
Maybe the later episode will be uncensored. The 3:30 (6:30) episode is censored, but the 6:30 (9:30) episode is uncensored since most kids are in bed?

So, do any of you guys have anypony that you originally didn't like, but really warmed up to? When I first saw Rarity, I thought "oh great, the stereotypical girly fashionista character." But as the show went on and I got to know her, I saw how much more depth to her there was and she's now one of my favorites.

Applejack's been growing on me, although she's still not my favorite by a wide margin (Twilight is best pony).

I doubt they would actually change their programming for late at night, considering how the people running the station aren't really fit to be catering to preschoolers to begin with because I've heard reports of the station accidentally switching to horror stuff like The Ring and 30 Days Of Night during their "pre-schooler" programming. Also, they'd be lying if they said they were commercial-free. Before the episode started, I was treated with a Cascade commercial, not one of those "sponsored by" things, an actual commercial for Cascade here. I know I'm going off-topic, but I might as well let it all out while I'm at it.

When I first started, I didn't like Fluttershy. But I've started to like her better after Stare Master and Return of Harmony Part 1.
It's pronounced "Te-ah-low-ve"

Pinkie Pie had to grow on me. Fluttershy is the pony I got on the pony quiz (although once I got Applejack), so I guess I liked her because she was the most like me. I'm not good with animals, though.
Oh, and Luna. As I said, it was probably the fault of fan characterization. I was glad to see she wasn't a crybaby woobie type when she came back /serious business.
