Honestly? I hate every single one piece of fanfiction where the protagonist is a Brony and winds up with a Pony or in Equestria, because they always seem incredibly obnoxious.

If not for the fact that I like keeping humans and ponies separate, I've been seriously tempted to write a HIE fic where the human shows up and annoys the crap out of the cast, to the point where by the end they're just barely managing to put up with him before tricking him into stepping back through a portal to the real world.

@deadly edible plants No, no, no. I have seen the king of deadly vegetables, and it's the rutabaga. I have seen them disregard the laws of time to kill anything human. Now seriously, they were so bugged they were OP, even for a roguelike.

@self insertion The problem with self inserts is that, once the niche in the fandom is established, nobody with self-respect and enough awareness will want to touch it (unless they want to parody it), leaving it to stagnate in the hands of madmen (I know that's not the proper word, but it'd sound less dramatic).

Rewriting My Little Dashie? I don't like this fic and even its basic premise but still I think its to dickish move to rewrite this? Unless you really want to do this in other way and not in "I can do this better/original sucks" way. Or author gives his/her permission.

But it's not worse idea for fanfic rewrite I saw recently.

Odd. I haven't read My Little Dashie myself (though I have read the parody My Little Stashie), but the one criticism I saw both in our trope page and in Stashie is that there's so little information about the viewpoint character that he comes across less like a character and more like a placeholder for the reader to insert himself into the story.

Random question for a fanfic.

How old do you suppose CMC are? Would they be older than ten?

I'd peg them at around 12, personally, considering their level of independence and competence random at things, but they could be younger, depending on your interpretation.

Ace: Once you get halfway used to the mechanics, I think you may find even the hardest difficulty a fair bit more forgiving than the original's superhuman (at least that's how it was for me). Adding ironman mode makes it comparable, though.

Meta: Having read it, yea, the viewpoint character is paper thin. And he doesn't actually develop very much. Most of the story's progression is actually Dashie's new development with the guy basically offering summaries without a whole lot of reaction. Which brings me to another big criticism I've seen. Dashie is not Dashie. Which does make some sense in universe, given that she lost her memory and started as a filly again. Her personality becomes more like a combination of Applejack's and Fluttershy's. Honestly, Dashie could have been replaced by just about any MLP from the show and the only thing that would need any serious rewriting consideration would be the ending.

I'd personally put them in the 9-12 range (i.e. right on the line between elementary and middle school), but you could probably slide it a few years in either direction with some interpretation.

@Kuroi: The new abilites for your agents evens the odds, but I still find them hilariously outnumbered and underfunded :V

@JT: X-Com 2012. I still think the original was waaaay easier (they nerfed stuns and Reaction Fire and training, also Squadsight was how it used to be for EVERYONE until they made it Snipers only) :V

Hm. I don't remember how I remember, but I distinctly remember there being hints about the character here and there. Maybe not stated, maybe I just inferred it from things. But that's the story as I remember it.
