Sigh, I'm not arguing.

@Steve: I sort of get what he's saying, though he's obviously a bit misinformed. Most bronies are fine, but I'm seen a surprising amount that are just a little too into the show. Seems like there are some really depressed people in the fandom that sort of consider the only good thing in there lives. Well that's fine if it helps them feel better, but what's gonna happen when it ends? Your happiness can't revolve around a tv show, it's not healthy.

Most fans are pretty ordinary though, there's overly obsessed fans everywhere, Homestuck very much included. There was this one guy on Skaianet... shudder.

On Cadance babies being alicorns... well there is supposedly Princess Skyla, a So Soft Newborn alicorn plushie. We don't know anything about her other than she has one of those creepy Newborn plushies, and she's pink. Did that ever come out?

Cadance was a lot more well received than was expected, so Hasbro may believe it'll be ok to introduce even more alicorn princesses and bronies won't object as much as they say they will.

We were talking about names for a group of zombies, so I said marmalade of zombies. I then showed him the definition, to which he said that there should be a pony called Marmalade.

Homestuck he has a passing knowledge of due to me. He plays XBOX Minecraft, and he knows about Dwarf Fortress' difficulty, but apart from that, he don't know a lot of fandoms.

On the whole Homestuck/MLP subject, I got to say that while I definitely enjoy Homestuck a lot more than MLP, I much prefer the Brony fandom to the Homestuck fandom.

The bronies can be weird but they're generally warm, inviting, and friendly.

Homestucks are a lot more confrontational.

Oh, and MLP has much better fanart. 95% of Homestuck art is crap, though remaining bits can be amazing. MLP in general has good fanart.

I haven't heard of Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress having obsessive fans in the same sense. But that's because they're sandbox games, not works of media with plot and characters. So people can build crazy stuff, but they don't argue all the time about Best Pony and the like.

Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
