@Apple: I think you need to start with basic shapes. You know how some drawing guides (pony or otherwise) tell you to break big complicated objects down into spheres and bendy cylinders and cones and whatnot? Stuff like that.

I can't do this all on my own.

What about the white stripes in Batty's hair? They're meant to look like racing stripes. Nay or yay?

I'd say the accent gives it a nice touch.

If you want racing stripes, you need more and thicker stripes. Also they should be black and white. I'd say don't bother and just take them out.

Apple, if you want the white streaks to be reminiscent of racing stripes, you need two of them, and they should be thicker and closer together. Here

You're certainly doing a lot better than I could.

In other news, I just had my first death (and my first level reset) in Pyschonauts, against the Mega Censor. Things would be so much eaiser if it weren't for the constant Camera Screw and if the tumbling thing they told you to do actually worked. Eventually, I figured out the only way to beat it is to constantly run away and take potshots when you can.

Don't be too hard on yourself. When you're really trying to improve, your art looks worse to you than it does to anyone else. You'll pick out every flaw down to the merest pixel out of place and see a giant flashing neon finger pointing it out to the entire universe, declaring your work worth less than the digital canvas it's plastered on in all of its painfully amateurish shame.

I know that feel, bro. I'm right there with you. Just remember that people will see the good stuff more than they see the mistakes.

I'd do what the others have suggested and make the white streaks in Batty's hair wider. Maybe put dark borders on the streaks.
