I asked this before, but what if their special connection to the earth allowed eps to develop the equivalent of physic powers? Not Telekenisis of course, but other powers like hypnoses, telepathy or clairvoyance?

@Crowfall: It also suggests that Earth Pony powers aren't as well-documented as Pegasi or Unicorn powers.
All the zodiac ponies are adorable.
I can't do this all on my own.
I'm no Superman.
Or that physic powers can happen in all three tribes, and are a largely unexplained phenonimum.

So the theory now is that Pinkie Pie's a mutant? Makes sense, bet she's glad that Ponyville isn't located in the Marvel universe or her friends would have disowned her the moment they found out.
I don't like Pinkie's powers explicitly being based on
Rule of Funny because when you're told something is funny, it often isn't.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
My rule of thumb for Pinkie's power is that it's only literal if it has major plot significance. For example, stuff like her growing extra hooves in A Friend In Deed isn't because it has no importance to the plot outside of facilitating the sight gag. Same for the "be in two places at once" jokes and such.
One of Pinkie's ancestor's is clearly Sleipnir :V
@Crowfall: That would be one wild family reunion.
