I always likened the Wonderbolts to the real-life group the Blue Angels. Still technically military, but mainly used for air shows, and IIRC only used for combat as a last resort.
EDIT: I never knew a donkey could be so stealthy.

Wonderbolt Academy seems to suggest it isn't a military. Yeah, the whole thing was structured like a boot camp, but it was also clear that most ponies wouldn't be getting in. There didn't seem to be any indication that after the Academy you had to serve in any military for two years or whatever before becoming a Wonderbolt.

That probably depends. If Trixie were actually competing with them rather then making them look bad, things probably would have gone differently. I should also point out that the only unicrons we've seen that are stronger then Trixie are Twilight and Sombra, so that muddies things even more.
Also, Trixie is a Beguiler, which is only Tier 3. That means that she can't actually do everything better than everyone else, unlike a tier 1 Wizard. But she can make them think she did.

So now that we know all about what Rainbow Dash is writing, what does every pony else's unfinished novel look like? I'm seeing Rarity with a steamy romance novel, and Twilight writing some fantasy epic but getting way too detailed in the world building so nothing ends up happening for like a thousand pages.

Twilight would be writing a treatise on magic theory and/or a spell compendium. Not wasting her time writing fiction.
By which I mean, someone has to write about gripping adventure and stirring romance, but it's not going to be Twilight.
These changing years, they add to your confusion.

Fluttershy's is probably some kind of field guidebook, Spike's is probably about some snarky hero, and lets not kid ourselves here Pinkie couldn't sit down long enough to write a book. And AJ's is probably a Slice of Life, southern gothic or something.

Pinkie would probably write something reminiscent of Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett. Except much more random. Rarity, yeah, she's romance novels all the way. Or maybe high-class Victorian mystery novels. Applejack would probably end up with something Little House on the Prairie style.

I guess she could be writing a good blatant self-insert story, and that self-insert might not be a Mary Sue despite being the best flier in Equestria and becoming Captain of the Wonderbolts...

I checked some of those pictures, most of them were apparently commissions... for the same person. Apparently someone really wanted to see a variety of Rarity/Vinyl pics.
At least Vinyl debuted in a Rarity episode. I actually used to entertain the thought that they were secretly twin sisters and Vinyl dyes her hair. Kinda Jossed by now, but hey it's the same line of thought that lead to "Octavia is Pinkie's sister!" Rule of Funny and Too much to pass up.
