Yeah, I'm going with Spike inflating AJ. I mean, as soon as I saw it, I basically though "Applelight is gonna love that".

I'm sure RD's 'A Dash of Danger' will rocket up the best seller lists.

I'm going to go with something generic like Pinkie's plan and moustache.

Clearly Spike felt something strange when he saw Rarity and AJ with their blatant shiptease at the end of s3e2, and decided a menage-a-trois is fine too.

Well that was a nice episode. Nothing spectacular or really likely to stand out(With the exception of the SEEEEEEEEE JEEEEEEEEEEE Timberwolves. Which were kinda neat on their own anyways. I felt like Applejack got a bit more depth from this episode than the last, although it does still play to the long-sufferingness that we've seen a few times before. Still, it was kinda nice to see an ensemble cast for a bit near the end there. Kinda funny how, in her pursuit not to be helped, she goes to ask for help. I guess she learned degrees from Applebuck season. I think the most interesting thing to see was Spike's near-neurotic and obsessive dedication. I suppose that's what you get from helping Twilight all your life...

So yeah: On the whole, a pretty good episode, and a lot of good fun, but sadly nothing really to write home about. But man, is that really episode 9 already? Or is this production episode 9, airing episode 8? Just seems hard to imagine we're only two episodes away from the finale...

I find it hard to imagine we wouldn't be, honestly. Especially with Luna's book still gone unanswered and all that other stuff in the early season about discovering her destiny and junk. I mean I GUESS it could be a standalone episode, but... I find it unlikely.

I still don“t see the problems with AJ but maybe its because I love "boy scout" type of characters. AJ is pretty much the Captain America of the group, she is the one who holds them together so any episode with her is a favourite of mine.

Well I do think it may be consider regular is definitely a good one. I like this type of episodes better.

And yes, Pinkie act of "distress" was hilarious! She was smiling the entire time! That one was one of the best jokes of the episode.

[up][up]I guess once the Discord episode airs, we'll have a better idea of what they intend to do. They might spread that out over a few episodes.

I like A Dash of Danger. We need to do a JFF for that.

[up][up] Indeedy. Honest, hardworking, puts family first. I think that she'd make a good soldier if she ever decided she wanted to be. She probably wouldn't. Man, I've been spoiled this season. Two AJ episodes in a row.

she is the one who holds them together

That used to be Twilight's job, but then Lesson Zero roled around and we learned that she was the most insane one of the bunch this whole time.

I didn't see any problems with AJ either. Her reaction to Spike was pretty much on point. She appreciates the thoughtfulness of his actions, but doesn't feel like he owes her anything because helping out is just what she does.

Also, there's a nice bit of irony in AJ getting being on the receiving end of Spike's insistence after so many episodes focusing on her own stubbornness. Now she knows what it's like to be on the other side of it.

[up]Pretty much. Twilight is the de facto leader, but AJ is one the one who balances the rest of them out.

I always imagine Twilight as the one who tries to be the straight pony to the rest of the group, only to jump in on the insanity as soon as it starts.

@JT: If there was any aesop in this episode, I'd say it was that. What's a few assists between friends?

Thinking back on it, sarcastic Rarity is best Rarity. Expecting it to become a reaction image any second now.

It just feels like Rarity's accent is purpose built for sarcastic remarks and she normally doesn't make them, so Tabitha St. Germain must have had loads of fun with that line.

And now, I have a party that I must prepare for. Talk to you guys later, and I expect to see a JFF article for A Dash of Danger at some point!
