I wonder how Bond is in the novels.
Oh wow, another page-topper.
I wonder if Equestria has any needs for covert military operation. Most likely not.

Approach like the Ghost. Strike like the Thunder. Vanish like the Smoke.
Fancy Pants runs an undercover spy ring. Her Majesty's Secret Ponies.
You've never seen things with more than 10 DR? They do exist.
That's just what the Celestial template gives.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
I really hate Fancy Pants. I'd rather it go to any other pony than him. Probably best for an OC.

While I like the idea of Equestrian espionage force, I don't think there are much needs for them, considering that as far as we can gather from the canon, there aren't that many military conflicts in general.
Then again, after the changelings (I am not sure if I should capitalize this or not) invasion, something like it might have been formed as for preemptive prevention procedures.

Canon disagrees with pony wars? Where?

Also why can't we talk about the synopsis here? It's an official listing, not a leak, right?

Since when is the spoiler thread where we discuss a new synopsis. What I was told gave me the impression that if the information has been released officially, then it's fair game. Are we changing that?
If I remember correctly, there haven't been any armed conflicts since the events depicted in Hearth's Warming Eve.

Eh, I figure every fic is AU. you can't really fault a fic for not seeing the future and knowing what happens later.
Besides, after the next episode, we've got a three week wait. I don't use the spoiler thread, and I don't see waiting three weeks to start talking about what's in the preview.
I don't really think pie fights count as an armed conflict, but okay. And Twilight jumped to the epic pony war theory pretty quickly when seeing her future self.
Well Equestria has a real military with functional weapons and armor (or at least a royal guard, and an implied air force). So they're definitely aware of the concept of warfare.
That we know of. We're never told there aren't.
We're never told that there are any wars either.

This is harder to argue against.

There were most likely wars between the Three Tribes before the Windigos came in with the Endless Winter.
Well there was the whole Celestia-Luna fight. That seems like it'd be a major conflict. The thing with Sombra I doubt was settled in a day, he had a whole empire and all.

Well, I've fanon'd the most recent war at about 20 years ago. As other people have said there's clearly evidence they at least know of war, even if it happens between other countries, and we know other countries exist by virtue of Trottingham not being on the map of Equestria(Or hoofington for that matter.)
Yeah, Twilight flat out says "Epic Pony War". War is a possibility in the world of ponies, but all evidence suggest Equestria (and the Crystal Empire) is a peaceful nation with a defensive military. Just in case.
