The only reason she wouldn't like math is if it interfered too much with her magic studies.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
We're talking about her doing math as a recreational activity, though, which even most people who "like" math don't do.
I wonder if math is required for any of her magic studies. Like if creating new spells requires mathematical formulas.

Math is a prerequisite to physics, which in turn is a prerequisite to mastering certain types of magic (after all, telekinesis is merely an application of forces).
"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."
It depends on whether spell development is derived from a calculated combination of magical forces, or developing the correct mental process to will the magic to create the desired effect.
Well magic seems to be sufficiently analyzed, so she probably uses math a lot.

Oh sweet Celestia math.

And, of course, Colin loves to talk circles about his math skills.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
Because they have a hard time getting why math beyond algebra is important to them.

I'm watching Wonderbolt Academy again. Did anyone else notice all the 'cloud houses' around the place? Either those are the dorms, or little Pegasi housing estates are common in heavily clouded areas.
Tealove is best pony.
Ask The Mane Six
We never need cloud dorms. When can just move our homes there.

What was that fic that shipped Fluttershy with a dragon, again?
Love is not a victory march.
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah.
In fact I see her beoming a bounty hunter of questionable nature, bitter after several failed careers.
