Do the writers seem to prefer Cloudchaser over Flitter? First the former appeared in Wonderbolt academy with out the latter (Didn't mind that cause It Makes Sense In Context) but she feels out of place in this ep. (as does Bon Bon to a lesser extent) also her sister was missing in both. Are the writers trying to Cloudchaser the new Derpy or something?

Maybe but i seem to think that Flitter is cuter than her sister (maybe its the bow) Also from what we saw of them they seem to have a Tomboy and Girly Girl dynamic. (Course that is based on what they look like and Cloudchasers appearance in the last episode)

Cloudchaser, Bon Bon, and Carrot Top aren't part of the family photo at the end, and they only appear for a moment when the song begins which leads me to think their presence is a Blooper. Then again, as someone else said Carrot Top might live next door and decided to be a friendly neighbor.

She's also standing next to Braeburn, which I find amusing cause Carrot/Braeburn is a somewhat common ship for some reason.

Also, this is adorable

Yeah, that picture and Babs and Applebloom saluting with the nail buckets on their heads were the cutest pictures for me. Really gives that "This is my cousin and I love them to death!" feel.

You know what I noticed upon rewatching? Unless I missed it, I'm pretty sure at no point is Apple Fritter seen making apple fritters. She's in the episode, but not in any of the apple fritter making scenes.
