Because that wouldn't interesting, Orion.
I'm saying this in a joking manner, to be clear.

Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.
A galactic threat? Equestria isn't even a global civilization; I think we need to take a step back and look at orders of magnitude here.
Yeah, a galactic threat would be pushing it a bit. I could see the series finale bringing up a threat that puts more than just Equestria at stake, but past that I don't think it would fit the established tone of the series.
I vote that we all live happily ever after with no uber galactic threat, or any threat, of any kind.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
If there are Ursa Majors.... are there other constellation monsters?
Or maybe they aren't really monsters... just stellar fauna or something like that...
Well, I do know about the Ursas. I've heard lore about some of the other constellations, but I can't say I know them.

I say we have a kidnap Princess as the finale!
as far as stellar creatures go, I'm pretty sure there's at the least Canis, Cancer, and Scorpius(wolves, crabs, scorpions) to worry about

And it turns out Celestia was letting herself be kidnapped as a test for the Mane 6.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

Don't forget Cygnus. Swans can be vicious.

yeah like i said, it would be sad, and yet, if they make cler that though they are parting, their friendship remains unbroken, that really would be the perfect way to end the series.
