@Kegisak: I've only read the first volume, and it's pretty good, although it leans a bit towards horror a bit in the beginning. Definitely worth checking out though. Lots of really cool stuff.
I've read bits and pieces of Sandman, and it didn't exactly grab me. Not sure why.

Yeah, 24 Hours is rather disturbing. Well written disturbing, though.

It's not animation, but Dollhouse has some
Early Installment Weirdness too. The main plot arc doesn't really pick up until episode 6. Episodes 2 and 3 in particular are just imprint of the week. At least 4 has a twist.

@ Story, that was actaully intetnional on Joss part to try and get the series green lit by the utter morons running Fox. Show them a generaic, plot of the week action show with a gimmick and a hot chick running around. Get the green light for the season, and then turn it into the series you ataully want to do after the first few trick scripts are made.
She does it at the very end when she's sucked out of the collapsing dream. She's just gotten over needing to use it all the time.
Yeah, she still uses it, she just doesn't overuse it. It's something you pull out for emphasis.
