Why give them powers, when they could break the game by maxing out their Diplomacy?

EDIT: Been a while since I got a page topper.

That would be running a punchline into the ground.

Darn, I mention a German movie and Crowlover isn't here.

@Ed: Scrunchy face is best face.

@Kegisak: I'd say go and add it. We want it to be accurate, after all.

@Meta: That one could work too. It'd be hard for them to make all the swirly motions with their hooves, though.

Also, high-five for David Eddings fan(presumeably)

Reposting this:

Although...I do think E Ps have a magic in them...it's getting it out that's hard. Case in point...Pinkie can sneeze confetti. It's got to be magic in her.

@Kegi: Only thing I read by him was The Elenium and The Tamuli, to be honest.

I wonder if an earth pony could have magic as their special talent. Like that dwarf in Dragon Age who studied at the Circle and came up with a bunch of magic theories despite having no magical ability herself.

Ah, well that's fair enough. I kinda preferred The Belgariad and it's sequel series, but they were the first of his I'd read. The Elenium and Tamuli were also a lot of fun.

@ Crowfall

That's a good question. Could any pony of one of the other tribes be talented in 'magic'?

@Crow: Sereg actually wrote a fanfic with that premise.

Hey...if they had the right materials...could earths make magical items?

@the comic where Scootaloo scares Rainbow Dash with the Cupcakes story: That would be even funnier if after that, Pinkie came along and said "Guess what! I baked cupcakes for your camping trip!" and then Rainbow Dash ran away screaming. Or if Apple Bloom then suggested that they go have cupcakes at Sugarcube Corner when they get back to Ponyville, since I think there's a version where Apple Bloom joins Pinkie in cutting up ponies for cupcakes too.

There's no evidence either way, so I don't see why they couldn't.

@JT: Once again the fandom proves that any casual though I have has already been drawn out over thousands of words in at least one fanfic.

[up][up]Respect. Though I've found it's a bit hard to implement meta-magics for prepared casters in some cases since you can never quite tell what you might need and you only have so many spell slots.

Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need.

All we've seen of Changelings thus far has been "Evil hungry army and their queen", even in the comic. On the other hand, said comic will feature the Changeling Kingdom, so its possible we'll see what changeling society is like in their homeland.

@Apple I'd say so. Maybe they'd be better at working the basic materials while unicorns are better at enchanting the final product, but I could see both making enchanted items.
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

@Story: Possible... but they've had to do the wriggly thing with their hooves to still it in the firstp lace, wouldn't they?

Wait... if Stilling a spell removes the need for Somatic elements, does that mean a Wizard could wear heavy armour and not take a penalty on those spells?

In theory, I'd say yes, but I'm not sure whether it works like that in practice.

[up][up]I forget what the spell level adjustment is for Still Spell, but I'm sure it's enough to make that a fairly bad idea.

@Calnos: I hope so. I just want to see a few changelings who aren't generic monsters. The best changelings we've seen are the ones with some personality, like the one trying to impress Pinkie, or the one who bops the Derpy changeling to mess up her eyes. Give me more changelings like that.
