Who's Tirek? I have heard the name, but that's about it.

The villain from the first MLP animated special. Basically defined Vile Villain, Saccharine Show.

@Ace: Those would also be cool, but I went with Tirek since he's basically the franchise's first real villain.

Yeah, but his shtick is basically what Luna tried to pull when she went Nightmare Moon.

Yeah, Tirek would be more fitting for a Milestone Celebration since he was the first.

Actually, I wonder if they can even use Tirek. People often bring up that Hasbro no longer owns the rights to none of the G1 ponies except Applejack, but they still have Minty in the toyline who's actually from the original 6 MLP toys. They've referenced a few other G1 ponies in the show (Moondancer, Lickity Split).

Was the whole trademark issue just a problem when Lauren Faust was developing the show? Did they just want to make sure the main characters are definitely trademarks they can make toys for, like Pinkie Pie? The whole trademark thing for old ponies confuses me to no end.

@Ace: Tirek caused Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon I mean come on, that would be one epic callback.

@JT: It would be nice to see a rainbow fight between the Darkness and the Elements.

Hey, if they get to fight The Smooze, then Friendship is Witchcraft could finally do an episode about Cult Leader Fluttershy succeeding in her plans.

She wears it on the extra fifth sleeve of the jacket-thing she once made.

Candy Land? There's no skill involved there, it's just purely based on the whim of the cards!

I guess that's why Discord picked it.

Either that or they have an elaborate set of house rules.

They could always do something different with Tirek if they brought him into G4, since Nightmare Moon has The Night That Never Ends covered. Maybe emphasize the fact he turns ponies into monsters?

I sort of like the idea of a cliche supervillain to act as a personal rival for RD. Likely end up with sort of a Mega Mind type scenario with the two treating each other more as sparing partners than enemies. I suppose the Mad Scientist idea could play into this.

well it still wouldn't be a full length movie, only 66 minutes and that's probably counting the end credits and opening, so basically an extended two parter.
