I heartily disagree.

I get the feeling that they have a sort of mutual respect for each other, but their interests are so divergent that they don't spend as much time together as they might with the other cast members. I'm sure they care about each other a lot, but they really don't have much in common. Not that they aren't good friends, just that they have less occasion to hang out. I don't think they don't like each other so much as they don't really understand each other's preferences. AJ doesn't get the appeal of dressing up fancy and being stylish, and Rarity doesn't care for getting her hooves dirty or doing work that doesn't let her exercise her creativity.

Okay, my brother is across the room and he was watching Dark Souls videos... and then the MLP episode Magic Duel came up as related somehow and now he's watching it, lol.

Oddly enough anytime I look at Dark Souls videos there are pony videos connected, and apparently vice versa. It's probably just youtube suggesting things we watch regularly, but the alternative is much funnier.

He's watched the 1st ep and the whole Discord arc, actually.

He says he doesn't get the appeal...but he kept going on and on about how he wanted to pet the ponies.

Unfortunately, some people just don't seem to get hooked, even after watching an episode or two.

I recall SF Debris' review of FIM. Dude said it was really good and he could see the appeal, but it didn't grab him enough to make him keep watching and call himself a fan.

Just watched Winter Wrap Up with commentary.

Two interesting points that came up:

1. They actually had a couple reasons for using images rather than text on the checklists. We already know about the fact that it makes it easier on a young audience and that it expedites sending it overseas, but what I didn't think about was timing. The rule of thumb for onscreen text is apparently that you need to leave the text onscreen long enough that you can read it at least twice. Pictures process faster, meaning they don't need to eat up valuable screentime by holding the camera on text.

2. The "official" rule on which animals can talk is apparently "hoofed mammals and mythological creatures" can talk, and all other animals are just animals. I think we've heard that somewhere else, but this is straight from the source.

That reminds me, I'm writing an original story with wolves as the main race. The problem is that they also farm and have livestock...but the villain race consists of hooved animals XD

And then there's Angel. Obviously you don't need to be able to talk to just be a little pill sometimes.

Anyway, I don't think I can talk about 'Look Before You Sleep', given my fanfiction career...
