Eh, that's way too much predestination for my liking. I see cases of specific names being a combination of self-fulfilling prophesy and ponies taking a name for themselves if they don't feel that their original one is appropriate.

I think that Earth Ponies are the "humans" of the setting. Less special than the other races, but a lot more roundable than earth ponies or unicorns.

I don't think so. In that case it's that your actions directly cause the prophecy to be fulfilled.

Not really, since they're a psychological phenomena in this case, not a mystical or metaphysical one.

Lets's take Diamond Tiara, for example. Her parents named her like a little princess, treat her like a little princess, and so she carries herself like a little princess and it all culminates in a passion for control and being served by others.

Don't forget her idea for the wedding was like a 5 year old's birthday party.

On the subject of "Why No Previews yet" for the next episode, I think we've been a little spoiled this season thus far. We got the first 8 minutes of "The Crystal Empire" and multiple promos/previews for each episode so far. Lets remember the days of Season 1 or even most of Season 2 where we rarely, if ever, got a preview of an upcoming episode.

This might mean there's nothing special about this upcoming episode (other than its about Scootaloo). Or maybe there is (Luna cameo? The episode deals with nightmares...)
