Nah, I like Angel the way he is. Not to mention that we've seen him a lot with both traits at once, like in Ticket Master way back or in Hurricane Fluttershy. I actually find Angel to be one of the deeper characters in the show, which both weirds me out a bit and fascinates me at the same time.

Yeah, I tend to think of Angel either as Jerk with a Heart of Gold or someone who very strongly believes in tough love, and doesn't always take Fluttershy's personality into account.

I see it as Angel getting sick of the Shrinking Violet and Fragile Flower stuff and wanting Fluttershy to be more confident and stand up for herself. He just doesn't understand that she doesn't want to do that.

I see him as a someone with the intelligence of an adult, but the maturity of a four year old. He clearly loves Fluttershy and encourages her a lot, but he's also been spoiled rotten by her and doesn't take no for an answer very well.

So I was kind of wondering; Derpy is one of those characters with a pretty solid set of fanon. There's some little minor tweaks that show up every now and then but generally her portrayal is the same.
But I realized I have literally never heard of a fanon explanation for her Cutie Mark. Does she have one?

I remember this one fanfic where her cutie mark comes from, after she was abandoned by her parents in the middle of nowhere, blowing bubbles to pass the time.
