Anyways Fluttershy concern for her animal friend's well-being would have made her more fearful than normal. Trixie's lucky she didn't push her luck lol, I doubt even the AA would give her Will Save bonus vs the Stare.

Yeah, I didn't find it highly predictable either. I did guess that Twilight's amulet was fake, but the switcheroo with all the spells she was casting caught me off guard. I mean yeah, if I stopped to think about it I'd have realized that it's probably way beyond her actual skill, but it threw so much stuff out in succession that you don't have time to think it over.

As soon as they revealed that only Trixie could take off the amulet I knew it'd be resolved by tricking her into thinking Twilight's was better and would take her own off to wear that one.
Of course this would have failed if Trixie had just worn both amulets.

I totally saw the placebo amulet a mile away, totally saw Trixie's apology, Fluttershy cowering out. Really the last episode this predictable was the MMDW.
Don't get me wrong this was good episode, an improvement over last weeks for sure.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by "Too Many Pinkie Pies" on one side and too eager to get to the Scootaloo episode already on the other to fully enjoy it.
And that's an awesome comic

It was a clever stage illusion by Twilight. Trixie apparently didn't study under Copperfield or Blaine or Paul Daniels.
She just outdid Trixie in everything. Unpowered, her raw strength is better, and with planning, she outdid Trixie in stage illusions.
