I'm willing to buy Trixie's apology because 95% of her jerkishness in this episode was due to the amulet. Yeah, it could have been explored a bit more, but I don't think it felt forced or anything. All it proves that even if Trixie's a jerk, she still feels bad about enslaving an entire town.

I wonder what Celestia is going to set as Trixie's punishment once she finds out.

@Ace: The Dresden Fillies. The other one seemed a bit too dark in tone after reading the description.

I hope we see more of Zecora in her "Master Yoda" role.

Yeah, she's a jerk, not evil. And now I think that she can occupy that space of 'antagonistic ally' in future.

Also, this dam essay just won't finish. I'm seriously thinking of just phoning it in. It's already crap...I couldn't get the books I needed on account of being suspended.

I'd make her watch the live-action episode. Twice.

She doesn't seem so antagonistic now. She's not even pushing for Friendly Rivalry. It's like she just walked off into the sunset and moved on with her life.

I am kind of interested to see what kind of role she might take in later episodes. Maybe something like a Daffy Duck type character, jealous of the main character and always trying to upstage them, but somewhat harmless and willing to pal up when the time is right.

@ Apple: Just do the best you can under the circumstances.

@ Sinclair. My Little Denarians does go a bit darker at times, but it's balanced by plenty of lighter stuff as well, overall I think it's the better of the two, thought the sequel to TDF is getting pretty damn good.

That said, you chould at least read the little chort story the MLD is a sequal to Forever! it's just Pinkie randomly popping into Harry's house and being Pinkie.

I noticed the presence of funny laughs in this episode too, two over-the-top evil laughs from Trixie and a rather goofy laugh from AJ when she is tickled.

Might allow for more versatility if they have ones without I guess. It might be hard to put a defining moral into each episode.

So... We have horses now. Creatures that look pretty much more like horses, from another land, without cutie marks, and we only got them briefly.

What are we supposed to do with that? Wait until they reappear?

Implied lesson about being able to count on your friends in a bind? Yes.

@Applelight: I've been in that position before, and honestly, sometimes phoning it in gets just as good results as trying to force it. I know it's probably horrible advice, but if you don't have the means to improve it any you're better off getting it out of the way and relieving the stress.

In other news, this whole amulet thing is going to be ripe for fanfic and fanart. There's definitely going to be a slew of "Twilight/Celestia/Luna/Whoever tries it on and turns evil" stories now.

But here's another question I have: What happens if non-unicorn wears it? Do their non-unicorn magic powers get boosted somehow?

@Mousa: The same thing we do with griffons and zebras, assume they have their own country someplace outside of Equestria and headcanon the rest of it.

Well, that was an awesome episode! This season is fantastic so far. Kinda disappointed that the Alicorn's Amulet isn't related to Sombra (well, at least, not confirmed. HE could still have created it eons ago).

I don't know what I liked most. DOTA's shopkeeper at the beginning? Fluttershy's menacing Twilight? The epic Trixie VS Twilight showdown? Zecora's role? Hers and Twilight's cunning plan?

...Honestly, I can't find of anything that wasn't top quality. The animation...I think I literally drooled at some point. I think the only thing that could maybe have made this better (aside from some sort of link with Sombra) would have been to give Trixie a Villain Song. Maybe. You're only second raaaate!♫

Ooh, interesting. It is the Alicorn Amulet, after all.

An earth pony would totally start rocking out with some massive quakes.

I also liked the subtle use of RD trusting Fluttershy to find Twilight, to the point of outright enthusiastically suggesting it. More showing of Character Development since "Dragonshy".
