@Apple: If they were only over a city, wouldn't that make them more akin to a count of viscount? I would imagine a Duke would lead a whole province.
It's her most popular brand.
The metal of your chains is no match for the metal in my veins.
My fanon on Pony Nobility, is that below Celestia and Luna there are five high tier noble families in Equestria, Prince Blueblood of Canterlot, the Tzar of Stalliongrad/North (Earth Pony family (though was originally held by unicorns the family died during Nightmare Moon)), Shogun of the East (Pegasus Family), Baron of the West (Earth Pony Family) and Magister of the South (Unicorn Family). Below them are all sorts of minor nobles with varying amounts of land, some not even owning any, Canterlot is the most full of them.

The only SFW reason I can think of is so that if Rarity ever bets that she will eat her shoes, she has something edible available.
Hey, that's what I suggested.
Damn, ninjas...

Go back to the discussion after I watched the episode.

@Blissey: Aw man, that's old school. Action League Now was a funny little thing.
