While I didn't like Babs' behavior, she's still a filly and she did learn her lesson, you can't judge kids like adults. And what CMC did was pretty dangerous so I can see why they apologized even though their actions are justified. As a victim of bullying, I always want to burn all of them with a flamethrower but you can't just ignore the character development that 0.001 percent of bullies went through. Babs is in that 0.001 percent. I did like the episode and the jokes though.

I think she's shocked, and more than a little touched, that there are people trying to be friends with her because she doesn't have her cutie mark yet.

She has her flank covered, so I think it's a reaction to them bringing up Cutie Marks.

She had visible emotions before DT came along, straight after though she seemed perfectly fine taking to her group and picking on the CMC. I may have missed some details though (that image is blocked by the way).

Also, I'm guessing this shot down those who hoped Silver Spoon was amist a Jerkass Façade herself.

I think that both Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are antagonistic, but not truly evil. When push comes to shove, when it comes right down to it, when the time comes to put petty disputes aside and rebuild what has been destroyed, these two will be right in the thick of the debris, helping to dig out the victims. They won't abandon ship like rats abandoning a sinking ship.

My headcannon is that all the above-average unicorns get sent to Canterlot or wherever the place is where Unicorns are trained to harness and constructively apply their power, and are thus much more stable with their magic (no random uncontrollable outbursts of magic), but much more rigid in their abilities (no random bursts of great magic, or random bursts of magic outside their usual sphere of use).

Sort of like languages, once you get older, you cannot learn languages as quickly or as well, and you are more rigidly stuck in whatever language you do know; but within your vocabulary and sphere, you're rather skilled. Except if small children had random bursts of speaking swahili that could destroy a house.

So, most of them are taught how to avoid using their magic and prevent surges of magical power. Sort of like an internal power inhibitor for safety. Also, most of them become specialized and, with that specialization and training channeling all their energy into their chosen sphere, they cannot do things outside their normal sphere.

Very few unicorns, in my Headcannon, are trained to combat large disasters, like the Ursa Minor and Major; the risk of those unicorns becoming a terrible threat themselves is too great for all but the least ambitious and most stable/trustworthy unicorns.

Other unicorns are like giant power stations that are safely harnessed to do mundane things like powering everybody's houses and lightbulbs; harnessed/restrained for mundane utility. Twilight is like a bolt of lightning: sheer unharnessed power seeking a conduit.

My headcannon is that there are lots of unicorns with power equal to Twilight's, but they have been safely harnessed.

I like this episode (S3 so far is great), even way they handled bulling (and yes I was bullied too). My only problem is with Bads joining DT and SS and betraying her cousin to quickly. But she redeemed herself in the end and I like her (I hope she will be back in some bigger role).

I think I re watch it more to catch all cute and neat moments what CMC or background ponies had (finally somepony sits in cooler way than Lyra) and see more of those I noticed allready, like Scoot playing drums.

But Tiara and Spoon crossed line into annoying and I really dont like them. I hope those two will get more punishment later.

Also Scoot flying, I hope this will kill that non flying fanon.

Remember guys, you automatically become as bad as your bullies if you defend yourself against them! Which means that Twilight and the crew are bullies who are responsible for freezing one bully in stone and blowing up another.

I hate both extremes that you have to be retributive or purely compassionate. I prefer Yin/Yang, so long as the enemy is destroyed via methods appropriate for situation. Whether it through kindness or more "darker" methods all depends on situation and person.

1. I think the CMC went far beyond "defending themselves"; they premeditated a way to humiliate Babs in front of the whole town. Defending themselves would have been booting Babs out of their clubhouse, or trying to prevent her from stealing their milkshakes or whatever. There's a world of difference between "Standing up for yourself" and "planning your enemy's downfall" and stooping to their level. It's the difference between hitting back when the bully hits you and waiting outside his house to run him over with your car. The first is self defense, the second is Disproportionate Retribution (albeit with an Asshole Victim). The problem wasn't that the CMC fought back, it was that they way overboard with it when there are plenty of alternatives.

2. Discord and Sombra went way past bullies into "threat to the entire country" territory. It was basically either "eliminate them" or "endanger the safety everypony in the land".

Except that wasn't what the lesson was. The lesson was basically that being on the receiving end of cruelty isn't a justification for being cruel to others.
