Hearth's Warming Eve is about the founding of Equestria. Nightmare Night is about terror brought forth by the Dark Goddess of the Night 1000 years ago.

I'm sure whatever the Thanksgiving analogue is, it probably wouldn't really line up with our Thanksgiving with the exception that eating is involved.

Hearth's Warming Eve is really more like Thanksgiving with Christmas trappings then anything else.

I wonder how many "true history" of Hearth's Warming Eve fics there are?

For Pinkie Episodes I'd say Baby Cakes > A Friend indeed > Too Many Pinkie Pies > Mmmmmystery = Party of One > Pinkie Keen.

Also, feh! The real Harvest festival happened a month ago.

That was more a joke for the american members of our forum. American and Canadian thanksgiving are on different days because they're celebrated for different events.

I'm not sure if I should rate Pinkie Pie episodes by their character depth or humour content.

I tend to go on how well it balances them. A friend in deed and Too Many Pinkie's had a fairly decent balance of depth to humour(Though I felt as though TMPP could have gone further with it's depth than it did). Baby Cakes hits the top because It has a really solid balance and because I love the Cake family to bits. Mmmmmystery had good humour but not enough development, while Party of One had good development but not quite enough humour. And Pinkie Keen... well, not my favourite episode, let's say.

But anyway, I tend to go with balance as well, but I like the characterization aspects more than the gag bits. I've always liked character-based humor as opposed to the lolzany type of stuff that Pinkie usually does, so I actually liked the humor stuff in Party of One more for that reason. I mean, it had stuff like Rainbow Dash arguing with a pile of rocks, and the whole "Harry the Bear" bit.
