Yeah, it's difficult to use a calculator with hooves. The fact that it was stretched out over three seasons/years is amazing. But it does beg the question of why it took the Apples so long to get a new barn.

What would you need a calculator for?
Anyway, I like to think that Big Mac is actually really good at math. Even if it's based on silly misinterpertation of a single line.
Also, relevant
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

They had to rebuild the farm after Parasprites, also they have farm operation expenses and written-off losses from the Gala. Also the Flim-Flams managed to pirate some of their profits in Cider Season.
At least Zap-Apple season was a success for them.

Also, I was originally bothered by the fact everyone went to complain to Twilight instead of the Mayor but quickly realized that as the only local Mage, Twilight would be he only one with the ability to do something like clone Pinkie Pie so she was the logical choice.

Which reminds me. What's up with the secret compartment. That turned out to be like Chekhov's Red Herring.

It's pretty much the only way I can do anything maths related.
That's doing calculations, not math.

The spell she used to try and make the parasprites stop eating. Even then, it's technically Gone Horribly Right, since it was supposed to make them stop eating food, which it did.

Of course, it's partially her fault for reminding Pinkie of the Reflection Pool.
I thought Pinkie already knew about it? When did she remind her?

She's failed many teleportations early on, and Discord spoiled her Failsafe spell. It's not just the Parasprite diet hack or her wild Animate Snowplow.
Warning: Mineminemineminemine
@Yeller: She basically told Pinkie that it would have been impossible to make both dates with AJ and Dashie unless she could be in more than one place.
#305622Perpetual LurkerMon, 19th Nov '12 6:48:55 AM
@Ace I don't remember her ever failing a teleport outside of the initial attempt at the long-range group teleport in Dragon Quest, and the "failsafe spell" simply did nothing, because it was up against Discord. It didn't break or anything.

@ed: That really isn't a fourth wall break. It's barely even a visual pun.

@Mio It's certainly Painting the Fourth Wall, though, considering the placement of her hooves as the camera zooms in.
The spell worked as intended. She just got shoved into shooting the wrong things.
