However, shallow villain aside...the story had a lot of other stuff going for it.

You act surprised...

@Applelight; Yeah, that issue was mitigated by the fact that 1. we can figure out a good deal of info about the character from the preparations he made, and 2. the episode is more about Twilight's development than about Sombra vs. Ponies. Like you said, it's a very different approach than the previous villains. It's almost vaguely Sauron-ish. Sombra gets mentioned a lot and he drives the story, but he's less a character than a vague threat.

The only way to do that is to either watch it on the Hub, hope they post it online somewhere (unlikely; as of now they only have the pilot episodes), or else wait a long time for a rerun or a DVD or itunes.

Outside of that, you're pretty much limited to youtube. And honestly, watching it there doesn't really hurt them at all. If it did they'd be much more adamant about shutting it down. If you're worried about supporting the show, watch it on youtube and then buy some of the merchandise.

There were a ton of different Gak products, along with Floam and a few others. Made by Nickelodeon in the mid 90's I believe.

The Hub presumably will temporarily put up the S3 premiere episodes on their website

(for U.S. people); they've done so for every other episode so far. Them having the S1 premiere episodes up right now is just a special thing

they did.

You know what else would have helped with the stairs? Twilight remembering that she can teleport!

There might be limitations on it. And she did try to teleport out of Somber's trap later but it failed, so teleportaiton might not have worked at all on teh stairs either.

How can you prepare if you don't know what it will be. Speaking of which, didn't you all prepare already during Its About Time?

Also JT what do you mean by teleporting just to turn over? The most frivolous teleportation I can remember is in Applebuck Season.

A "blind" teleport carries the serious risk of materializing inside of a solid object, which could be messy.
