If Celly really was pulling a Secret Test of Character on Twi... whatever position she's grooming Twi for must be really freaking important if she was willing to pull the Secret Test in the middle of saving an entire city.
future ruler of Equestria? Or maybe to go agsaint whatever season 4's villian is.

OK, I'll do the live watch...just as soon as YT gets on it.
Tealove is best pony.
Ask The Mane Six
@Enlong: Wow, I like that analysis.
Storyteller, nobody goes GAK GAK GAK.
You're thinking of NAK NAK NAK.
Clone enough. Also, the frozen north IS part of Equestria.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Celestia's ultimate gambit is to groom ponies who can take care of themselves. She wants to be less alone, so she trains promising ponies to be as competent as she is, or at least as close as possible. That way, no matter what happens to her, there'll be worthy successors.
@Enlong: Yeah, pretty much. Sombra has all the hallmarks of being a really interesting villain; possibly one of the most interesting in the show. The problem is that we don't get to actually see him act other than at the very end.
So it's basically been confirmed that magic is fueld by emotion...so my question is, what was Celestia thinking of that could make her THAT afraid/angry/hateful?
Gay, Autistic, Nerd, Gamer, Gleek, Brony, Writer, Fan, Master Of The Ever Changing Avatar, Mad Man.
I am in fact awesome.
Thanks, edvedd, Swasfews.
Honestly, looking at him tha way makes me more sad that we didn' see him before he became a mass of shadow.
I have a message from another time...
So, can we add "too interesting to waste" as a further reason for him to return, at least in influence?
I'm guessing the clones will have some sort of built-in shelf life. They won't be true clones, just carbon copies of Pinkie's personality without any real personality to them.
Also unlike Pinkie Prime, they can't flyor mind control buildings.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@Crow: Seriously, if they had given him half a dozen real lines at the end I'd bump the entire episode up to an 8.
I think it's more, L Mage, that there's a lot of things, magically inclined of course, that are fueled by emotion and unity. The heart of fire from the creation myth, the Elements of Harmony (which I think is the same principle as the heart of fire, just split into six distinct facets), the power of love in a number of different formats, and now the Crystal Heart.
I have a message from another time...
Sombra totally intended to get nuked by the Crystal Heart. He will scatter his essence to the winds, and hide pieces of himself all over like phylacteries.
Oh crap, Sombra is
Orochi/Yami?
I have a message from another time...
I probably would be more disappointed with Sombra if they had
tried to focus on him and failed to make him interesting, rather than just not emphasizing him. As it was, the writers pretty much just said "here is a threat so the story can progress. Okay, now let's focus on what the protagonists are doing." And they did that bit well, and they gave him just enough focus that he didn't feel like an element of an
Excuse Plot.

As for in-universe reason, idk...
Changelings stole em.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@Enlong: Then for the S3 Finale, they'll have to fight off an army of corrupted megafauna possessed by bits of Sombra.
Show of thumbs, who went "I WARNED YOU ABOUT STAIRS TWI! I TOLD YOU PONY!" every time stairs came up?

C'MON AND SLAM! AND WELCOME TO THE JAM!
@Hsere: It didn't really help that the protagonist outside of Spike and Twilight weren't really doing much interesting (IMO).
