I consider cellphones to just be extraordinarily rude. I don't want to listen to someone talking dirty to their girlfriend. I don't want to hear some inconsiderate prick take a call in the library or during a movie, especially if they have a particularly obnoxious ring tone (and most do).

I don't want to be stuck in a bus with ten kids on their phones simultaneously. Everywhere I go, someone's taking a call.

The person who created the cellphone should dropped off a tall building and his remains should be cooked and fed to the poor.

People being jerks doesn't mean the device is any less useful.

So I just played Episode 1 of MLP: Online (which was, ironically enough, not online). The field encounters are a little irritatingly dense, though it's probably exacerbated beyond what the rest of the game would be like because the opening dungeon is dark-ass Everfree where you can't see anything because they're trying to be all creepy (they succeeded). Part of it was also that I didn't realize you could rotate the camera with right-mouse, so for the first few rooms I ran into stuff a lot. In any case, I feel like I overleveled on accident.

The combat is unusually flexible for as early on as it is. Looking at the talents, there seems to be a tremendous range of specialization for each character, and they're almost all really powerful. Like, "X attack never misses", or "Applejack becomes passively immune to daze", or "Twilight regenerates MP like crazy". You can also allocate Element points for minor stat boosts, and reset them for free at a save point, so you can basically crank a bit more out of any given role on demand.

I absolutely adore the writing. It reminds me of Mardek. Just the right amount of WTF all around. Actually, the plot reminds me of Mardek too, but whatever.

I was a little surprised they left a debug line in Spike's dialogue though. Don't use it — it's not a clever joke. It actually messes up Applejack's intro. >_>

It also doesn't appear to have the glaring compatibility issues that make so many of the pony games unplayably laggy.

I disagree with you Veni. For every daft fool who makes wasteful calls, there's a person who's life is saved by being able to make emergency calls outside of standard call grids.

Well, I'm almost definitely going to have to miss the livestreams of the new episodes. I have friends coming over sometime during the time the show is on. I guess I'll need to stay out of the thread when the season starts until I get to catch up. Hopefully I can on Sunday.
