We know they do. Trixie has fireworks, and given her track record with magic, I doubt they're magical. They might use magic to manufacture them, but I'm guessing the actual explosive component was mundane.
Also, yeah a potato gun could be legitimately dangerous. They'd probably shoot tomatoes or something.

We don't really know much about Trixie's track record with magic other than "not enough to floor a four-story-tall angry murderbeast". She probably at least knows what she's doing in the area of her specialty.

Considering that in Fallout 3 it's completely possible to kill someone with a barrage of teddy bears it's not too far-fetched for a potato to be able to kill a person, or break a leg.

Well, on the subject of gunpower Dash refers to a bullet at least once, so they obviously have guns. So unless they're magitek they'd have to have gunpowder. Or... Bright powder, as it were.

Also, I'm fairly certain limes would be at least as harmful as potatoes, if not more. Those skins are tough, and they're pointy. At least, pointy enough that at high speeds...
