When you say it like that, I can't help but think of Equius now.

I found Ginger on Derpi.

[up]I bet that the context for that statement is hilarious.

Say, does anyone think Diamond Tiara is a Changeling?

I heard claims that in "Ponyville Confidential", there's this one shot where her eyes were glowing green...like a Changeling! surprised

I think you're reading too much into it. The glowing green eyes were just to show that Diamond Tiara is one evil little rhymes with "witch."

That's the best idea actually. An EP can be an amazing shot with his legs.

Also, is the name Sea Biscuit trademarked? Might make a good nautical EP name.

What context? You're already past me in Homestuck.

Re: archer ponies. There's at least one native South American tribe (assuming The Mission didn't make this bit up) that used huge longbows by lying on their backs, holding the bow with their feet, and using their arms to pull the string to their chest. A similar tactic could work for ponies.
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

Yeah, I remember that there was a weapon like that in Hero, too.

Archer ponies work in teams of two, on has the bow mounted on their back, the other draws and aims
Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool. My random thoughts

I remember that Equestria-Prevails had ponies using arbalests instead of straight-up bows. I'd concur with that, because it's a lot easier to draw and cock a crossbow with hooves than it is to draw and fire a bow, unless you're a unicorn.

Interesting...real medieval/renascence crossbows didn't have a gun like trigger...they just had a big metal strip...maybe it could work in a ponies hooves.

YES. That's exactly how I imagine Straight Arrow uses her bow.

That's really the only practical way I could imagine it working. Although I think functionally it would end up being closer to a ballista than a bow and arrow. Slower to fire than arrows (it can't be a quick reload unless you have help), but a lot more power.

Maybe they have special harnesses to operate the bows. Sort of like with cameras.

What about flintlock era firearms? That shoot potatoes?

The thing is, a foot bow is fine for infantry vs. infantry when you're firing into a crowd at long distance, but it's another thing entirely to aim at a specific target that way.

I imagine Blossomforth would be a showoff and do this:

I would ask whether they even have gunpowder, but I think Trixie had a stock of fireworks for her traveling show?

I guess there's also Pinkie's party cannon.

Realistically, though, even if you're just firing potatoes, if you launch them at a high enough speed (like, I dunno, firing them out of a gunpowder-filled tube), I can imagine shattering bones with it.
