well, pound for pound it takes more alchohol to intoxicate a horse then a person. And okay fine I could see their being alcohol in Equestria, but i doubt the cider was, nopony would get buzzed from just the one glass they all had.

Isn't the reason it takes more alcohol to intoxicate a horse because horses are huge? These are little ponies after all, so they shouldn't need as much booze as a regular horse.

I lurk and pop in from time to time, but my activity in the thread has decreased because it has a tendency of jumping 10 pages minimum every time I visit the forums.

Anyways, I want to jump on the "Nightmare Moon connected to Crystal Empire disappearing for 1000 years" WMG, if only because it may imply Nightmare Moon actually conquered nations or something before being sent to the moon and I kinda like the idea of Nightmare being a Bigger Bad, but we already have one Big Bad for the episode. I think its unlikely they want to drag in a previous villain as part of the plot/backstory.

But hey, who knows!

I think I should just reiterate that I hate how Pinkie acts in this episode.

Why does Rainbow need a drink that badly? Did she see something horrible?

Also, I like to think Flim and Flam are ponified Mafia bootleggers, and they're just doing what they know best with the materials they got.

On the other hand, it fits right in with my version of Pinkie: Someone who knows life is short, so fuck it, let's drink/smoke/inject/eat everything!

Well she does say in the beginning of the episode that Pinkie is always the reason that they run out of cider before she gets to drink any. My guess is that she's never had it before but all the hype makes her desperate.

Also No, you misunderstand me. It's more the way she acts about the cider than anything.

"I'm going to camp outside Sweet Apple Acres! And I think I'll tell half of Ponyville so that they'll get the same idea and come along!"

"Oooh, you know what would be great? I'll get TEN FREAKING MUGS even though there are other ponies in line!"

Aww, the crystal ponies look so sad.

I'd say that's as much a problem with Rainbow's pride as it is Pinkie being oblivious. Really she could have just pointed out to Pinkie that she was hogging all the cider when there wasn't enough to go around, and Pinkie would have felt bad about it, but no, she had to try and beat Pinkie to the cider and drink it in front of her.

@ Crow: I did have an idea for a little vignette of a fanfic once where it takes place in that episode and Pinkie says something that makes Rainbow blow her top and start yelling at Pinkie.

No need to rush; season 3 isn't until November.
