I think Dash would be more of a problem if she got Spiral Power.

Mac is usually busy helping Celestia by turning the Earth for her. She raises the sun, but he's the one who moves the planet for differing times.

That's why the night came so quickly after Twilight cast her spell: Mac ran against the planet too fast and spun it more than he was supposed to.

I'm with Death a little. While I certainly don't think it's lame, nor do I object to it crossing over with MLP, I'm definitely not a fan of TTGL myself. (Mostly because of Kamina)

Does Twilight have some immunity to magic? (She wasn't affected by her "Want I, Need It" spell)

Well, she cast the spell. She can probably decide who it effects. As for Celestia, magic doesn't seem to have much effect on her; remember Twilight's freak-out?

Presumably, the caster is immune to their own spell, while Celestia is just that awesome (high level spell resistance FTW).

I think the spell works on anypony other than Twi (the caster) who isn't resistant. I'd wager Celestia and Luna could just shrug it off thanks to their virtual physical god status. I'd imagine sufficiently power unicorns would probably be able to ward it off too. Anyway, that's my educated guess based on Twi's failsafe spell failing against Discord's magic (which would suggest a large disparity in power could render the magic harmless) and Celestia just kind of waltzing through Twi's freakout back in Cutie Mark Chronicles.
