Rainbow just got bitch-slapped by Granny.

Damn!

[up] And that is why it was horrible back then.

Goddamnit Rainbow.

Listen to the Random Purple Unicorn. She has wisdom beyond even the stars themselves. Then again, the stars also sprung Nightmare Moon from prison, but whatever.

When Rainbow said "I hate being all alone." I instantly thought: "Then go see Scootaloo!"

Two seconds later...

yeah you're seeing one of the big issues with that episode all the crap that just shows up that is so out of place with everything we've seen before.

also yes it can be a bit sweet at times, but rarely, and most of them are either tongue in cheek, intentionally over done, like the "Gotta care" song. Or are legitnmitly heartwarming, like the Heart Carol though obviously YMMV on that, but there's nothing that has been just pure sugary sweetness that was supposed to be takin seriously, it's either a YMMV thing on if it's overly sweet or heartwarming, done for laughs, or clearly annyoingly sweet even to the rest of the ponies "Cutsie wootsie sweetie pony pie"

Yeah, it just seems out of place for that many ponies to be in mortal danger in a few days.

The cliff also shows up again later in the season...still without a guardrail.

Listen to the Random Purple Unicorn. She has wisdom beyond even the stars themselves.
Funny you should say that, given her name

Huh. Well, I'm good at guessing, I guess.

Why doesn't Rainbow just kidnap every child in town and threaten to kill them unless Mare do Well unmasks herself?

Never mind...It was PINKIE?!

No wonder MDM could teleport...

Oh, it was everyone!

Although I will say I finally heard a good explanation for why the road leads to a cliff: it's a takeoff spot for pegasi with wagons. Yeah, it's reaching a bit since they never really need a takeoff spot, but it's better than nothing.

Still needs to be a fence or something.

Like I said, not really adequate, but makes more sense than the ponies building a road to a cliff out of idiocy.

Also, I'm going to bed, goodnight.

It's gone from the 1840s to about the 1960s...

Early 80s if you count Hearts and Hooves Day.

You know this latest steven commentary didn't have a whole lot of dark in it. Not sure what that means about the episode itself.

Dear Thread,

I have literally nothing to write about to you. Except I learned that when you get upstaged by a fancy superhero, just shoot them!

Signed, Steve.

P.S. Doctor Evil changed his phone number. What's his new one?

[up] Yeah, I just noticed. Is my Dark Energy running out!? Oh Gods no.

Yeah, it just seems out of place for that many ponies to be in mortal danger in a few days.

Did they ever actually say it took place over a couple days? My headcanon is that it took place over the course of months. Everytihng makes a lot more sense that way.

@story: If that were true then that brings up the question of how long they were planning to keep up that charade. After awhile you would think that they would come to the conclusion that their plan wasn't working, assuming that trying to teach RD what a real hero was about was all they were trying to do.

When he says "cute", he may not specifically mean in a good way. As genuinely endearing as the show is, it is admitedly saccharine in tone, which is of very particular taste.

Nah, he means it is legitimately cute. He thinks that's the only real good thing about it though.

He was pretty shocked to find out I've been a brony for nearly a year though.

[down]That sure does sound weird! Actually it sounds like an excuse to just write the show over again with programming humor thrown in.

Great news! one of my favorite fics, Directive: Grow, has updated after 5 months!

Twilight Sparkle, designation TSparkle.ai, is a an AI newly created by system administrators Celestia and Luna. She is tasked to go out into the digital landscape of Equestria, specifically the Everfree server, interact with the users and other AIs that populate it, and ultimately, to Grow.
