Best I can tell, he's angered that JJ basically spouts out that mass-produced style and gets a ton of recognition for it, while he spends a lot of time building something unique and it wasn't well received. Unfortunately, originality and uniqueness doesn't usually equate to popularity. The reason a lot of pony fanart is similar looking is simply because people like it more. JJ probably settled on that style specifically because people like it.
I know why he's complaining, I was just wondering if the words in the rant were a reference to something. They almost sound like song lyrics.

Unfortunately, my brother would flip the fuck out.
His reaction to me watching the G1 episode earlier was: "Dom, what the fuck."
I told him it's because it was so bad, I had to riff on it.
In truth, that's actually what I was doing, but it was actually quite metal.

Lol, my bro just said he wants to pet the ponies. And he's horrified that I'm telling y'all so.
I tried to convert my family but I haven't had any success.

Conversion of my little brother was successful. I just showed him the Flutterguy clip.
My parents...seeing how both of them are over 50 now and very biased against cartoons...

As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.

@Blue: Tell your bro that real men enjoy what they please. You angst, you turn in your Man Card.
My parents just don't really have the time to watch cartoons much anymore, even if they like them (my dad is a big fan of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, but hasn't actually watched that many episodes of it), so they just take my word for it when I tell them it's good.

We've already talked about what they taste like.
If you did pet them, what would they feel like?
