I think that's why I think the ending is powerful. That look of sheer terror on both Twilight AND her friends when she's supposedly to get a big chewing out from her idol and peer. Even Spike leaning nervously on the whole conversation, playing with his tail. We've all been there, both being the perpetrator or watching the painful situation with someone else.

EDIT: Quickly covered that. So sorry if I spoiled it for you.sad

I think Fluttershy is going to have to kill Twilight. This sends her Walking the Earth as a Death Seeker.

Then Rainbow dies during a botched rainboom, Rarity leaves her friends for money, Pinkie returns to Vietnag and never comes back, and Applejack is left wondering what merciful god could allow this, before leaving Ponyville forever.

I actually found myself laughing throughout the episode.

Then Celestia came and I realized that this was supposed to be serious.

I went ahead and laughed even harder.

Heh, I remember the first time I ever got a detention. I'm pretty sure I thought that the world was going to collapse.

Then the teacher to gave it to me conveniently didn't turn the slip in to the office. He had only given it in the first place because other students were acting up and he gave a "FIRST PERSON WHO TALKS GETS DETENTION" ultimatum, and I forgot. That guy was awesome.

@D Roy: I laughed pretty much throughout the whole thing too. Even at the end there's just this sense of it being kinda obvious that Twilight is still taking it far more seriously than Celestia.

[up][up][up] I don't think the ending was meant to be serious as much as sentimental. It had poignancy but it was for a very mundane and relatable situation. Nothing that pretentious about it.

[up]I remember thinking that too. Hell I was terrified the first time I had to write 100 lines. In both instances my parents tsked a little but otherwise nothing.

I don't know why I lose so much sleep working on this piece of crud artworks.

The Height Chart for Ask the Mane six is finished, colored, and I even threw Spike in there who was not easy to do since I built him in sai from scratch rather than sketch him first.

Has Steven seen Lesson Zero yet? I wanna see the commentary on that.

This sorta leans a bit into Fridge Brilliance as to why Twilight was left a tearful wreck over AJ scolding her in Winter Wrap Up. Twilight seems like a character so used to being the "good girl" and inexperienced to angering or disappointing her peers.

Yeah Spike snarks her, but he's an obnoxious kid and the way she dishes it back suggests she's confident he isn't an individual who knows better.

@Psi: Honestly, writing the 100 lines would have been much worse, because my handwriting is terrible, and to make it legible I have to write really slow. 100 lines would probably have taken me an hour or two. At least in detention you can spend the time working on homework or doodling or something that isn't a complete waste of time.

I'm sure Pinkie is very good, but she specializes in deserts and pastries.

Also she has no sense of taste (which makes her claims to be a taste tester in Winter Wrap Up even mroe ludicrous). She can't even tell if she burned the cupcakes or not.

or fall into the "this is tasty, and this is tasty, so together they must be DOUBLE tasty" mindset and mix stuff that just should not go together.

Anyone had Cake Terriyaki? It's surprisingly good.

Twilight, stop being insane and return to being slightly Adorkable.

AGH! BIRD'S NEST TWILIGHT IS WORST TWILIGHT.

She's going to kill the CMC! Most likely Scootaloo first!

Kill? That would be too easy. No, she is going to take her time, on each and everyone, nice and hard.

@Mousa: I have to be honest, I like your work better when it's not in color.

@David: Darker and Edgier interpretations are kind of his schtick.

Also, I see you guys tempted fate a few pages back, no I was not happy about Rarity's suffering because I was insanely annoyed at how small it was. I mean there's drama queen, and there's whatever the hell she did.
