Nah. With animation schedules the way they are, with an episode released that little time after the gorefic happened, it had to have been written and in late production long, long before.

Well, what a coincidence...

The funny part is it happened again at the beginning of season 2. One of the early S2 episodes had Twilight make a face uncannily similar to one she made on a fanmade ask blog (coincidentally, as part of her rather epic reaction to reading Cupcakes).
