Someone on a /pony/ thread said this, and I love them for it.

I'm betting on animator slip. I recall seeing a picture of Surprise from G1 with a horn, an example of an old-school animation blooper.

But no. The fandom isn't going to live this down. There will be fanfics of this alicorn filly. Ponychan will speculate. deviantART will be flooded. Hard solid Fanon will develop from this despite that its an Imagine Spot, like oh I don't know she's the forbidden love child of Celestia and Blues-Cyclops.

Have we seen her before? I mean, as just a pegasus or unicorn? Or even an earth pony?

Well, everypony on this thread always enjoyed it when a cast member went off the deep end, now we got an entire episode of just that. This plus Big Mac's awesomeness and a pinch more Trollestia implies the creators know what we want and are giving it to us. Also, Raindbow Dash was actually called RD. pretty sure that's the first time that's happened. Actually, has anyone called Applejack AJ in series?

On a more serious note I think we can honestly diagnose Twilight with some sort of nerological disorder. Note: her checklist has a checklist, cannot stand being tardy/has to remain on schedule for her own sanity, taking a small problem and blowing it way out of proportion. Reminds me of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.

Yes, but actually seeing it occur in canon makes it made of win.

Also, given that the alicorn only appears in Twilight's insanity makes it pretty obvious that she isn't canon. I mean, this is Twilight we're talking about, of course she's going to assume that if she's kicked back to kindergarten even those ponies will be better than her.

Also, it was great to see the CMC without cutie marks ever getting mentioned.

Well Twilight can apparently fill that role, but she's just as crazy as everypony else, so it probably won't help.

I'd say she's MORE crazy than the others (except maybe Pinkie)
