What I did all day: Scootabot and Meanie Belle

People keep making up pony names with ponified corruptions of real words, but ponies in the show don't have names like that. Like, at all. It just bugs me a little bit, as it trips my "this would not fit with canon" alarm.

Now that I think of it, you're right, I can't think of any in-show pony names that are ponified puns, except for maybe Con Mane, and that's not really a pun on a name anyway.

I was prepared to insult your drawing skills, but you've done a very good job on Sweetie Bot.

Their actual pony name wouldn't be based on their real name, but on what they do.

Pony Gadget Hackwrench would probably be... well, just Gadget.

Oddly enough, I was going to suggest Canter as a last name.

Pinkie is the only one with a vaguely human-ish full name.

@ATC Oh, it's just subjective a pet peeve. Nothing you need to care about. Humanizations and most crossovers bother me too, but I'm not about to stop people from making/enjoying them.

@ATC Why should I hamper other people's enjoyment of something that bothers me only because of some odd personal quirk? In any case, it's not a quality thing. It just has to do with humanizations in general.

@d Roy She did, but not in that context. Some people seem to think that she recorded that specifically for that fan animation, when its from Lollipop Chainsaw.

This is Tara Strong, she knows that ANYTHING that is recorded coming from her mouth has a good chance of ending up having twilight say it in some video.

Now, if only the people who are obsessed with cleanliness and hygiene were as accepting as you, my life would be a lot easier.

Also, why should you put up with something that bothers you just because others enjoy it? You should speak up, because maybe someone else also dislikes it, and maybe a third person. Who knows, what if nobody liked humanizations and we were all just putting up with them so we wouldn't be spoiling the "fun" that nobody was actually having.

You should let your voice be heard, but I do appreciate your accepting attitude.

Ideally, it wouldn't, but people insult the work of others based on their disagreements with them. Look at Ayn Rand, people will say that she was a terrible writer just because they can't stand her views and philosophy. Ideally, everyone would act like you just suggested.
