I think what they mean is that RD might have a tough time remembering that relationships are a two-way setup and her ego can't be top priority. I can totally see her hooking up with a stallion, though. Either one that's as competitive as she is, or one that's secure and chill enough not to be bothered by her attempts to one-up him.

I don't know Rainbow's sexuality but if I had to guess, she'd be interested in stallions.

Okay, since trying to maintain rhymes and syntax apparently gave up too much clarity of what I was saying, here goes again:

I mean that guys usually like to feel like the "man" in a relationship, meaning the "strong" one. Rainbow Dash isn't only physically powerful, though, she's very in-your-face about it and competitive. She wouldn't settle for being the "weak" one in a relationship, and most guys would probably feel insecure in the face of her drive to be dominant. Obviously this is all to do with cultural constructs that may have no bearing on Equestria, and obviously even if does apply there can be exceptions, but it still leads me strongly to the feeling that Rainbow would simply fit better in a relationship with another mare.

If I have to give an opinion on their preferences, I prefer to think of any character as straight until evidence is given otherwise simply because that's the most probable orientation. It's just not realistic for more than a small minority of the cast to be homosexual or bisexual.

Yes she those types do exist, and no RD would not really be good at a relationship with them, but saying she wouldn't be right with ANY Stallion because apparently almost all of them are that way?

If they were humans, yes. they are not. human fucked up issues with sex most likely do not apply and so I really don't see them even having words to describe sexual orientaion, they don't give a buck about gender for anything other then making foals.

Eh, I still think there are stallions who would either enjoy the challenge, or just wouldn't mind it. I mean, I could easily seeing her getting into a Belligerent Sexual Tension kind of relationship, or hooking up with somepony like Soarin, who probably wouldn't care much that she's so competitive. And that's operating on the assumption that her competitiveness would necessarily carry over into a romantic situation.

@Seraphem: Chill out; he isn't saying that she's definitely lesbian, just that given the info he finds it more likely that she is. I don't agree with the reasoning either, but he's not saying all tomboy's are lesbians.

I think what he means is that since the ponies' social structure is more or less analogous to human social structure it seems likely that the breakdown of sexual orientations would likely be similar. Which is obviously open to interpretation, but I think it makes sense.

I hear ya. I also have trouble thinking of them as female sometimes (other times I just don't care/notice). Might be because I automatically think of a character as male, unless proven otherwise.
