D'aww... that would be so sweet. You know, I always carry around a copy of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock in my bag.

I cried the first time I read that. sad

Bought the complete poems and essays of T. S. Eliot for $1 once. I squeed when I found it.

Ironically, my dog Lily is going to have her final obedience class this Wednesday, so she'd basically be graduating from dog first grade (there's three levels at the local dog school and she's about done with the first level) at the same time that human children would be STARTING first grade.

I was looking for the Lyra doll again and while I didn't find her yet (I should probably wait until September since I saw that listed as a release date somewhere but I was curious to see if I would have Turtlebutter's luck if I looked in a place out of town while I was on a day trip with my dad), I did see some of the other brushables that are toy-line only, such as Diamond Rose and Snowcatcher (I didn't get any of them because I want to save my money for ones I really want, like Lyra). It got me to wondering, does anyone ever make fanfics about the toyline-only ponies? There's plenty of stories and fanart about the background ponies on the show, but I've really only seen a little bit of stuff about the toy-line only ponies and only on this forum (mainly the fanon stuff that people made up about Snowcatcher).

I wish I had a dog.

It would be a husky named Jack or a German shepherd named Fritz.

What kinda dog is Winona?

@Fallen Legend: My Elkhound was pretty rebellious, too, and she still sometimes gets into mischief even though she's 11 years old, but she also loves having a structured world and likes knowing who's in charge. If you need any dog tips, you could talk to me about it through P Ms, I know a lot about taking care of dogs and about training them, both big and small dogs. Lily's main issue is that she's a Shrinking Violet who is scared of a LOT of things, including most other dogs and people who aren't part of the family, but she's also very attentive to me and has been able to learn some basic commands so far.

And now it makes me wonder if Fluttershy ever helps other ponies deal with badly-behaved pets that they have.

Is there some kind of sheepdog that she's supposed to be? She doesn't look like the ones in Babe. Or the one in Looney Tunes, even.

Probably. Kinda weird given that her pet is probably more prone to misbehave than any other pet except Opal.

[up]I'd guess mutt, but I have no idea.

For Winona's breed, these sites think she's a border collie.

For comparison

You know, there's a famous border collie who knows the meaning of like 80 words or something. I saw it on Nova.

80 words is nothing, smart dogs these days are up in the 160 word range.

my mistake, the current record would appear to be a Border Collie named Betsy that knows about 340 words.

@Rainbow Our very own Sereg wrote a fanfic for the toy version of Star Swirl, but that's the only one I know of.

@crowlover: Yes, now that I've compared the picture of Winona to the picture of the Border Collie, I would say that it's likely that she's at least supposed to be that kind of breed. It would make sense given the herding jobs she helps Applejack with.

@ed: That's what I mean, Snowcatcher is pretty much the only one of the toyline only ponies I've really seen anyone make stories/fanart about, aside from maybe the blind bag toy pony Firecracker Burst, who also gets mentioned a lot here.

Winona has a PHD in 'Being an Adorable Pet'.

[up]She may be a pyromaniac, but she's OUR pyromaniac.
