They have the same days of the week as us. I don't see any reason to think the days, months, and years aren't the same as in the real world. It keeps everything simple.

Pretty sure Celestia meant for Nightmare Moon to be trapped forever.

I like the idea that Celestia intentionally made it temporary so she could have time to find new Eo H bearers to cure Luna.

I looked up the quote in the script.

Of mules, he says this:

I like this movie. I know people hate it, but I don't.

It's actually a good movie, IMO. They made fun of it on The Simpsons in a rather uninformed, mean-spirited kind of way once, though, just like with Last Action Hero. Why do people hate that movie? It's a good movie!

It's basically about a mailman in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Has it been explicitly stated how many days are in an Equestrian week?

The way Twilight's calendar pages are drawn in "Lesson Zero" makes it look like each week has either four or eight days... and her line "Not every other week! Not every ten days! Every. Single. Week!" implicitly rules out the four-day week theory.
