They would need to burn all the ponies with book cutie marks too.

I'd also like to point out that unless you're really popular, an author doesn't really make that much more from a hard copy than an ebook. In some cases, they make less, because with a paper copy you have to pay for materials, distribution, printing, and other sorts of costs that don't exist in a digital format. It also makes self-publishing much easier and allows stuff to get out there that might not have made it through a traditional publisher. And this is coming from a guy who much prefers reading actual books to reading ebooks. (That old-book smell that libraries have is like the best thing ever)

@Blue: Ditto. I much prefer actual books to ebooks, but as long as the physical media doesn't vanish, I don't see any problem with people who think ebooks are more convenient.

I can't really see a serious book burning taking place in Equestria either.

I actually find it easier to read physical books, since I have less of a chance to use music-changing as an excuse to goof off tongue.

Okay, back on topic, what kind of spells would be considered dark or forbidden?

Just about anything for mass destruction, most likely. Although given that stuff like the love potion recipe is freely available, who knows? My personal theory is that the spells can be found if you know where to look, but very very few unicorns have the magical capability to actually cast any of them.

One last thing: As long as ebooks remained mostly DRM'd, the format will never win.

Come on guys, we all know that the only book burning that would ever happen in Equestria would be various Fan dumb members {And possibly RD} burning copy's of "Darring Do and the kingdom of the crystal skull".tongue

I like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Temple of Doom is far worse.

Bah, Temple of Doom was awesome. (Honestly, even Crystal Skull was nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be; weakest of the series, but not crap)

Also, everyone knows that it was Legacy of Nightmare Moon where the series went to crap.

@Purple: I liked Crystal Skull too, it's just that this particular movie gets alot of hate from people.tongue

[up]Funny thing is, that sounds like the only Darring Do book I would actually read, if the Tv Tropes page is anything to go by.tongue

I've had a great find today.

Target has started selling their Crystal Empire exclusive merchandise. Among other things, they have two 2-in-1 Glimmer Wings bundles - one with a new pony and Pinkie Pie, and one with a new pony and Fluttershy - and the Pony Rainbow Collection.

Today, I snagged the Pony Rainbow Collection. I am decidedly happy.

Is anyone aware of the Animaniacs short (set of shorts, actually) titled "All The Words in the English Language"? It's one of my favorite Animaniacs shorts, where Yakko tries to sing, well, all the words in a dictionary and is shown getting more and more tired throughout the song. It only shows A, L and Z, with a little bit in F. I could easily see a Fi M version of this where Twilight is singing all the words in the Equestrian language out of a giant dictionary with Pinkie and Spike as the announcers instead of Dot and Dick Button (the latter of whom is a real-life figure skating announcer).

Daring Do, not Daring Doo.

I prefer Crystal Skull to Temple of Doom.

Filly Rainbow and Fluttershy.

Filly Octavia.

Hmm, can I post links yet?

Edit: Apparently not.

Double Edit: Wait, what the hell? It didn't let me post a link, then I edited it and it appeared? Anyways, make sure you read the next ones too, the whole strip is awesome.

And this is the best thing ever.

I can see book burning in universe played for laugh.

BTW I like all Indy moves, including 4 one. Rainbow would like DD equivalent of Kingdom of Crystal Skull (nuking the fridge - awesome).
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

Of those two new Glimmer Wings ponies, Diamond Rose has also had an individual non-Glimmer Wings brushable release, while Sweet Song hasn't had any other brushable releases.

It doesn't support the publisher, and it only gives 99 cents to the author. If you really cared about reading, you'd pay at least three dollars per book so you could truly support the authors.

Smaller authors get ripped off pretty badly by publishers they can rarely even get to market their books at all. So I'm not seeing the problem.

Look, I'd rather put up an Ebook for very little money, have 100, 000 people buy it for $1, and get most of it, than spend a shitload of money convincing a publisher with overzealous standards ("if I'm not COMPLETELY hooked in three minutes gtfo") it'll break even at all so they can take most of the profit instead.

That said, a physical book does have a lot less potential distractions.

Yup, that's going in the repository.

[up]That's exactly what I was saying. Unless you're a big name author like Tom Clancy or J. K. Rowling, 99 cents a book isn't a terrible deal.

"Why would you like to purchase an e-book sir?"

"To read My Little Pony fanfiction."

Well that's the reason I got mine, though I also reread Methods Of Rationality on it.
