@Yeller: That always looked to me more like a temporary restraint. Some bad guys need more weight pinning them, like the good old shackles.

Might be the same template. Honestly, if the eye colors were more muted and didn't have the purple stuff coming out of them, that's actually a fairly decent character design. Maybe he has a second form.

The 2012 Design a My Little Pony Finalists

poster reuses a bunch of designs from the show, so Steel Masquerade having at least partly the same armor as that Season 3 character is kinda like how Pipsqueak made an Early-Bird Cameo in the Comic Con 2011 poster. It does make me wonder if the Finalists poster has any other stuff from Season 3 Hidden in Plain Sight...

Probably. I don't think real Piranhas can polish off a cow in mere minutes, but in cartoons, they can.

It would be worse if there were SENTIENT piranhas. They would be the mortal enemies of sea ponies.

Nah, sea ponies would fight back, and then the piranhas would shuffle off and look for easier prey.

Or the sea ponies give them food, and the piranhas in return offer them protection from other dangerous sea creatures, which involves tearing off more chunks of tasty sea creature flesh. Everyone's happy!
