Finished my drawing prompt for today!
@Sereg: You might want to try using a sharp-edged brush; because when you fill the colors in they tend to clip along any edges. You also might want to use a reference or something, because I'm not gonna lie, some of the ponies are pretty off model. Although that might just be due to attempting to draw with a mouse, which is nigh impossible.

@JT and Sereg: This is probably pretty obvious, but a drawing tablet works wonders for digital art. And they have relatively inexpensive models out there.
And yeah, I still use a reference for all my pony art. I've said it before, but hit up eqd and search for 'pony drawing guides'.

I ended up missing a few days of the NATG, and by the time I could get back into it, the prompts were already way too complex for me. Now they all require multiple ponies in odd poses with props, and it takes me all night to draw one pony in a somewhat average pose. No way I can do this now without those intermediate steps to get me there.

well anyway, I read The Logical Option. I have to admit, I had my suspicions early on that it was a ponynized human in equestria fic, but I didn't expect it to be quite like that. Also, Celestia was just a bit to tyrantish for my taste.

@Ed: I'm actually considering getting an el cheapo tablet, but given my limited income I'll probably wait until I've got the basics down before I spring for one. I don't dedicate enough time to drawing for it to be worth it at the moment.
@Perpetual: Most of them aren't too bad if you get inventive about how you interpret the prompt. So far everything I've done has basically been "find vector of character and modify slightly". They really aren't picky about how close to the prompt you are.

I'm aware. Like I said, I'm currently a bit strapped for spending money given that I just had to have a headlight on my car replaced and in a week or two I'll probably have to drop a few hundred on textbooks. So I think I'll stick to dead trees for now and if I'm still into it when Christmas rolls around I'll use my extra cash for that.
That and I'd have to learn how a tablet works. Do you need special software, or could I just use it in like GIMP or something?
