I agree that there isn't nearly as much shipping fuel as people tend to see. I mean, I ship these ponies like crazy, but I'm aware there isn't really much basis for it in the show itself.

@van - Discord is cool, yes.

I get a molester vibe from him though and if we consider the mane cast as young women...

Anyhow, resuming watching.

Apparently changing diapers require the usage of power drills.

Awesome.

A scene with Derpy was changed to not mention her name and make her less silly-sounding.

Hmmm, you might be right that some pruning of the Les Yay page might soon be in order. I still rest my case that there is some pretty blatant subtext in there (I mean, how does AJ get leaves like those in her mane and tail just doing border patrol, for one?).

@Crowfall: Same here. Though I do kinda think that most of the RD/Pinkie and RD/Fluttershy stuff seems valid enough for the page.tongue Key word being Most.

[up][up][up]There's definitely some, but a lot of the entries (pretty much everything in the "Pinkie has a crush on Twilight" section just seems like a huge leap to me.

What with her voice and maturity, Twilight definitely feels older than Pinkie.

Pinkie can be really petty sometimes.

[up][up]But then Twilight falls into bouts of deep immaturity to contrast Pinkie's occasional moments of clarity (some of the stuff she does in LBYS definitely feels like stuff Pinkie would say).tongue

I will at least give that the show loves pitting the two together, possibly more so than any other duo (par maybe RD and Fluttershy).

@Roy: She's a bit of a big kid, yeah [lol]

@JT: Point, although I still hold that roleplaying as Holmes and Watson is still a bit of a tease there :V

Also if you look at the first three episodes with shipping goggles, it sure looks like Twi has a lot of swag. AJ takes her to meet her family, Pinkie basically crushes on her at first sight, Rarity wants to play dress-up with her, and it only gets funnier in Ticket Master, where everypony wants her to take them to the Gala. So much swag there [lol]

Of course, I'm half-joking here [lol]

@Psi: Hmmmm. Pinkie seems to be going to Twi for help quite a bit there, now that you mention it.

@Psi 001: Lots of characters have their bouts of immaturity (and maturity, hi Spike), but Twilight is probably the worst about it.

Thing is, Twilight's bouts of immaturity are more due to her lack of social interaction than her personality. Twilight is more mature than Pinkie, she just doesn't have the social experience and gets stressed easily. Pinkie is pretty immature almost all the time.

[up]To me it seems more to do with her increasing OCD and inability to handle stress.

@Mio: One of the fun bits about the show is that how many chemistries are rather even handed. Even regarding the wavering sanity of each character, there is rarely an "all take no give" relationship where you wonder why one puts up with the other. All the characters foil each other well to some extent, maybe what fuels "debates" such as these.

Pinkie is childish and nutty, but her eccentric but warm hearted outlook is just as often right or wrong as Twilight's logical but cold one. Similarly RD is too aggressive, but works well with the too meek Fluttershy. There is no consistant "competent vs incompetent character" dynamic.

@Sky - Oh, you know, the bit where after Pinkie puts one in the crib and looking for the other? There is this really eerie music playing on and it suddenly feels like a horror movie?

@story Odd Korean song.

@Roy I think that's an homage to some movie, can't remember what.

After hearing so many people on this very website talk about how the villains are "always" more interesting than the heroes, it's amusing to see how exactly the opposite is true of this show.

There's also series where the whole point is to see the hero be awesome. For example The Queens Theif. I can barely remember anything about the villians.
