I just hate when people think there own personal head canon is the only possible way something could be explained. Despite if ti's actually supported in the show. Even more so if it's actively countered by the show and they claim that the show is then wrong.

There was a fanfic that went up on Equestria Daily recently that largely amounted to the author calling discontinuity on a swath of season 2 because they went against her headcanon.

No, I'm not making that up.

Fanfiction I hate.

Ugh, yeah, stuff like that bugs me. Pointing out flaws in the writing is one thing, but calling BS on something that's perfectly consistent with the setting because you just don't like it bugs me.

Ignoring stuff from the show that clashes with Headcanon doesn't bug me, it's when people have the attitude of "the show got this wrong because it's not how I think things are" that I find it annoying. I mean, if your headcanon is that Scootaloo was adopted by earth pony parents that's all well and good, but don't go screaming Ruined Forever if the show shows her having pegasi parents.
