@Apple Actually, I do think that it's a coincidence. That, and we really haven't seen much of any focus on pet relationships aside from Fluttershy, so I wouldn't say that any of them really have "better" relationships with their pets any anyone else. Having being good with animals be a passive magical ability kinda cheapens the skill, IMO.

Really, Angel, Opal, and Gummy are the only pets we see on a regular basis, so I don't think we really have much basis to make a blanket statement about it. It wouldn't surprise me if that turned out to be the case, although it would be a bit odd given that in general Fluttershy is better with animals than anypony else.

At least they're both fireproof. But, given that they live in a tree library, that might become a problem.
Random thought: Usually, I see fanart and fanfics about Spike being alone as he ages, and after Twilight dies. But Peewee is immortal (or at least long-lived), so he has a companion now.
