About that "who can be called filly" discusion

Look at this qoute from DS 9

"Take one beautiful, happily married filly and the possibility of her giving birth to a foal and what does it leave you? Lovesick stallions that never got out of the starting gate."

I think filly word can be used same way word girl, so adult male ponies can have fillyfriend.

Every time I hear something horse related in any show I start thinking about MLPFIM.

I actually feel partially responsible for that. While back someone added a couple of PMVs to the Awesome page (the first one in the Fan Videos folder, actually), and I was reluctant to remove it so I added folders for Canon Moments and fanworks since there are some pretty awesome/funny/heartwarming stuff the fandom creates, and then people started adding like crazy.

Team Fortress 2 also has "community created stuff" on their Crowning Moments pages, so I figured it'd be alright and no one's raised an alarm yet. Oddly enough, I can't think of another work that includes fan-stuff on their Crowning Moments pages...

I don't mind it too much, although we could probably stand to prune down a lot of it, especially on the Accidental Nightmare Fuel page. A lot of what Discord does is genuinely disconcerting, but it really gets redundant to have him listed like fifteen times.

Isn't Accidental Nightmare Fuel subjective though?

How do you trim THAT down? We have no set standard

Well, if Accidental Nightmare Fuel fills some other tropes, it would count?

Take Creepy Doll for example. A doll was not meant to be creepy, and no one in-universe thinks it is, but many viewers think it is. And I mean viewers without doll phobias.

What I mean is that like half of the season 2 entries are variations are "Discord Mind Rapes the mane cast!" I'm not saying we should axe examples, just remove some of the redundant entries by combing them. If half a dozen people view something as Accidental Nightmare Fuel, they don't need to each have their own bullet for it.

The other (more nitpicky) thing is that a lot of the stuff should really go to Fridge Horror; it fits better there if you have to analyze everything to figure out how creepy it is.

Would the whole Nightmare Moon eternal night ploy work as fridge horror?

I think any "THIS TROPER FOUND THIS SAD/FUNNY/WHATEVER" should be trimmed. Not the examples, but the mentions of "this troper". If that makes sense.

While we're on the subject of that episode, I was setting that episode to record, and the summary was "Twilight loses one of her lessons to Princess Celestia." What's up with that?

Nope. The next one's this saturday

We basically have two descriptions of the next episode. Twilight has trouble coming up with a friendship report to the princess, and Twilight loses something she wanted to send to her with the report. Not sure which one is accurate or if they both are. Your description sounds a bit like a mix of the two.

How can she lose a lesson though? (absent brain washing) It must be a physical object.

I can't imagine what she'd want to send with her report, so I hope it's the former. I have it all planned out in my head fanon.

Yeah, that makes no sense. I guess she could have run out of ink? The one about Twilight being unable to think up a lesson sounds a lot more plausible.

Maybe Spike sends it to the wrong place. Or sets it on fire.

I hope it's that one. It sounds rather unique for this type of show.

Plus, the title "Lesson Zero" seems to fit the "no moral" synopsis better, I think

It also allows for more interaction with the other ponies, since she would be trying to force a lesson out of them. If she just lost something, that would just be an episode of her looking everywhere for it, which sounds a lot less interesting.

I think she'll overreact as the cast tends to do when Celestia gets involved, and she'll say goodbye to all her friends because Twilight thinks she'll be called back to Canterlot or something. This is a bit overused though ("Oh no Celestia ha ha just kidding"), so I hope they do something else.
