A case of true love has the same redeeming power as a case of genuine curiosity: they are the same.

I still think the fact that Doctor Whoof even exists is really weird.

Such a bizzare coincidence [lol]

[up] The hourglass is a stock cutie mark, although I'm not sure what it means. And there's only so many ways you can style a mane. It was almost inevitable.

[up] There's not too many male ponies, so it'd be kinda hard to find his.

Clover/Lucky/Male Earth Pony with a 4-leaf clover cutie mark is the Doctor's Palette Swap that shows up the most I think. There might be some others that don't come up off the top of my head, but yeah his mane style is fairly standard, and there are at least three other ponies with hourglass cutie marks (Colgate, The Manester from "Best Night Ever", somepony in Applejack's flashback).

wild mass guess Equestria is Gallifrey.

I did a thing with Pinkie and Applejack

I... I think this show is diving me mad. I don't get obsessed with a piece of media often if at all. I haven't felt this way about anything since One Piece and the DCAU. Ponies are everywhere and they are invading my brain and forcing me to fanfiction. Progress was excellent by the way and I greatly enjoyed it's spin-offs as well.

Shoot me.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.

Don't worry, people have admitted to the fandom being addictive even if they don't find the show worth the hype (but decent still).

And she was the first to find a book twice (elements of harmony reference guide and the flight spell)
That reminds me, today I thought it would be funny if Pinkie Pie had a compulsion to organize everything alphabetically, and that's why she had every object she owned that started with the letter Q on hand to give to Spike. (And good gracious, that's a scene that's not going to make any sense in the foreign language dubs.)

I'm torn when it comes to dark-fics, on the one hoof they can be awesomely hilarious (or hilariously awesome), but on the other they're just depressing.

You really need to seperate the fic from the actual show in your head I think

Considering your previous mentions of deep aversions to reading good fanfiction, the fact that you have read enough darkfics to give advice about them doesn't speak positively to the quality of such fics.
I have a message from another time...

I watched the pilot episodes. It was pretty nice, I suppose. I'm looking forward to watching more episodes.

I can certainly relate — the last time I went full-tilt fanboy for a show like this was the original G1 Transformers series. Might as well sit back and enjoy it, it's an awesome ride.

[up] The early episodes are considered by most folks to be the weakest of the series; you definitely should try a few more...

[up][up] Don't worry, I will. The premise sounds nice and hell, I will end up watching it just to see if it deserves its hype or not, which at this point I can't be sure but have feeling that it does. I have a rather positive impression on this show.

The biggest obstacle for getting folks hooked on the show is just getting them to overcome the initial "Ponies are silly-frilly fru-fru sissy stuff for little girls under the age of 8" prejudice, IMO. I was exactly the same way three months ago...

I have much the same issue. Granted, it's a lot easier for me, being in an art school. Half the people I know are already enourmous nerds, and it's no small task to point out to a modeler that the art is reeeeaaaaaally good. Hell, I got my roommate to watch it based on a mere recommendation. He later cursed me for making him like ponies, but eh. He still pays a bit of attention when I watch it on the TV, at least.
