Well, fans of any series can be defensive, so it's good not to be too critical...

We at TV Tropes are supposed to be better than that.

But you are right, this is offtopic. I have personally taken Frigid Wings as my Word of Dante until Jossed, so Pa Apple died in an applebucking accident involvin a fallen tree and Ma Apple died shortlly thereafter out of sheer depression.

Impressive origin story. I got into MLP because people in the Magic: The Gathering thread kept referencing it and I went to the Memes page just to see what they were talking about.

My Little Timelord. There are better Doctor Whooves fics but it was a darn fun (and good) one. Enough to get me interested in the other characters. o/

Should I make a rewrite of the World of Darkness rulebook for My Little Pony? I've been grinding through the books for various other personal projects anyway, and it occurred to me that it would be quite easy to mkake an adaptation. (Since every other RPG seems to be gathering pony versions anyway...) Some parts, like the Virtue/Vice system, could be swapped for an LMP equivalent problem free.

And the World of Darkness is a really inappropriate setting for this, you know? The Grimdark is sort of built in. I think MLP works better with rules-light or even dicelss systems.

The virtue/vice system could probably be translated to something like the names of the Elements of Harmony. Alternatively, you could actually keep them as they are.

• Applejack: Justice(?), Pride
• Rarity: Charity, Greed
• Twilight: Faith, Pride
• Rainbow Dash: Fortitude, Wrath
• Pinkie Pie: Hope, Gluttony
• Fluttershy: Temperance(?), Sloth(?)

With all the crazy "Ask [CHARNAME]" tumblrs popping up (*coughpinkaminacough*), I think it's actually fairly apropos.

.....that rivial town idea some people mentioned sounded fun. Could be a good chance to bring back some older gen ponies AND create a semi reoccurring team of both 'villians' and potential allies for bigger problems.

A tweaked Wind Whistler could be the groups version of Twilight for example.

Oh, and maybe Minty is on their team! After graduating from high school, she went there to find work, and now there's the problem of having loyality to both her new friends and town, and her old pal Pinkie.

Maybe Minty and Pinkie could be the peace brokers during conflicts?

@Paci, you're being short-sighted in associating it with the setting, rather than the system. I assure you, there is nothing in the rules that ties in too strongly with that. Actually, it will be EASIER than most other systems, say, D&D, because other systems were built around combat. The Storytelling System was made for plot-centered stories to begin with.

@Kyler, yup, Elements of Harmony is obviously the choice to replace the Virtues. :)

Here is an example of how I imagine the Virtue/Vice system could work:

Rarity:

• Virtue: Generosity. Once a session, by giving up something of personal value to help another, Rarity recovers all her Willpower points.
• Vice: Vanity. Every scene where Rarity ignores more pressing matters to maintain appearances (hers, someone else's or any object she's working on), she regains a Willpower point.

Rainbow Dash:

• Virtue: Loyalty. Once a session, by giving up concentrating on a personal goal to help her friends, Rainbow Dash recovers all her Willpower points.
• Vice: Mischief. Every scene when Rainbow Dash teases a friend about a mistake they have just made or enjoys someone being exposed to a minor hardship and ridicule, she regains one Willpower point.

How about, I just do it, and collect the "oohs" and "aahs" when I'm done? :p
